Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, and Others Released in Major WWE Roster Cuts – WWE has reportedly released multiple talents from both the main roster and NXT this week, with Braun Strowman and Shayna Baszler standing out as the most high-profile names among those let go. According to internal communications circulated within WWE, other confirmed releases include Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, and Dakota Kai.
This round of cuts follows mounting speculation earlier in the week sparked by cryptic social media activity from WWE stars like Chelsea Green, Shotzi, and Austin Theory. While those three names have not been officially released as of this writing, sources indicate that the situation remains fluid and additional cuts could still be on the way. WWE has yet to issue a public statement regarding this round of talent releases.
Strowman, a former WWE Universal Champion, returned to WWE in September 2022 after his initial release in June 2021. During his second stint, he played a key role in building new monster figures like Jacob Fatu and Bronson Reed. He returned from injury on the December 13, 2024 episode of SmackDown, and his final match took place on April 18, teaming with LA Knight in a losing effort against Fatu and Solo Sikoa.
Shayna Baszler, a former two-time NXT Women’s Champion, joined the main roster in 2020 and went on to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles multiple times with partners including Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey. Most recently, she was aligned with Zoey Stark and Sonya Deville in a group known as the Pure Fusion Collective. Deville was released earlier in 2025. Following her release, Baszler posted to X, reflecting on her MMA pedigree and pro wrestling accomplishments: “I’ve done more in two sports than most people do in one. I’m built different.”
