Samoa Joe Wins AEW World Title at AEW Worlds End – Samoa Joe clinched the AEW World Title in a dramatic showdown at Worlds End PPV, securing victory by forcing MJF to pass out in a chokehold.
MJF, already nursing a shoulder injury, faced Joe with the injury heavily favoring him. Joe capitalized on this vulnerability, strategically targeting MJF’s weakened limb throughout the bout. At one point, the referee was incapacitated, allowing MJF to execute an F5 but unable to secure the victory.
In a desperate move, MJF attempted to use the Dynamite Diamond Ring, a gift from Adam Cole, as a weapon. However, Joe thwarted this plan by ensnaring MJF in a chokehold.
Despite MJF’s attempts to counter by rolling through the hold, Joe persisted, ultimately causing MJF to pass out, leading to Joe’s inaugural reign as the AEW World Champion. Notably, MJF had a remarkable reign with ten successful title defenses and a 406-day tenure after winning the title from Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear 2022.
