Beth Phoenix Comments On Possibly Wrestling Again – Beth Phoenix returned at the start of 2022 to assist Edge in a program with The Miz and Maryse on WWE television that resulted in a mixed tag team match at the Royal Rumble.
Phoenix had been part of Edge’s story with The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio & Damian Priest) as well.
While talking to Brandi Rhodes on her ‘2 Lies And 1 Truth’ podcast, Phoenix was asked about potentially wrestling again.
“Who knows these days? [Beth laughed when asked if she’ll be back in a wrestling ring] You know, I say this every single time, it’s the most cliché thing but never say never or like, retirement in wrestling isn’t a thing, right? It’s embarrassing to say I’m retired because it’s never true.”
Rhodes thanked Beth for being generous and kind to her in the early stages of her career in wrestling. Brandi added that it was not always the most enjoyable times but Beth went out of her way to be nice.
Rhodes: Just so that everybody knows, I have to say, Beth, you were one of the nicest people to me always. Beth is one of these people in the wrestling industry that’s like salt of the earth for sure because people aren’t always nice, especially back then in the days of being a woman coming in. You had it kind of tough and then there were people who made the effort and the choice to just be nice and you were one of them and you made my entry into wrestling a little bit more palatable because it was rough for me in those early days so thank you for always being such a sweetheart [Brandi laughed].
Phoenix: That’s so sweet of you to say Brandi. I hated to hear that, that, you know, had a challenging start. I know the locker room was not always an easy place to navigate, so I’m glad those days are long gone… Like you said, it’s a community, we can all be kind to each other. We can just be mean on-screen.
Rhodes: Exactly, exactly. Maybe that’s what it is. Maybe just back then, we didn’t know and then you get the social media and everything started happening. You’re like, hey, I actually like these people. They’re kind of my family. I should be nice to them.
