It was announced tonight that Rey Mysterio has been moved to WWE SmackDown.
During tonight’s show, Mysterio went up to Triple H backstage and told him that he could not be around his son because he doesn’t want to fight him.
Mysterio told Hunter that he wants to quit the company but Triple H brought him into his office and worked out a deal. It was announced later in the show that Mysterio is now officially part of the blue brand.
Mysterio also won a Fatal 4-Way match to become the number 1 contender for Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship. It looks like this is being done to give time off for the storyline until they resume it for WrestleMania season.
Karrion Kross was scheduled to compete against Sheamus, Ricochet and Solo Sikoa to determine the number one contender to GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Championship. However after tonight’s SmackDown kicked off with pandemonium in the parking lot, Kross was out and Mysterio was in.
Ultimately it would be Rey Mysterio who went on to win the match and a shot at the Intercontinental title.
