Rey Mysterio Undergoing Surgery for Torn Abductor – Rey Mysterio is officially on the road to recovery after announcing that he is set to undergo surgery for a torn abductor.
The WWE legend shared the news on his Instagram stories, revealing that the procedure is necessary after suffering the injury during the March 29 episode of SmackDown. On that night, Mysterio teamed with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix against American Made’s Brutus Creed, Chad Gable (known as El Grande Americano), and Julius Creed.
Unfortunately, the injury forced Mysterio to miss WrestleMania 41, where he was originally scheduled to face El Grande Americano in a high-profile singles match. Instead, Rey Fenix took Mysterio’s place at the event, though Fenix ultimately fell short against El Grande Americano.
At this time, it is unclear how long Mysterio will be out of action. He assured fans that he will provide further updates once he has more information regarding his recovery and expected return timeline.
Mysterio, a cornerstone of WWE and one of the most celebrated luchadors in history, has battled through injuries before. Fans around the world are surely hoping for a full and speedy recovery as he works toward returning to the ring once again.
