TNA Wrestling has officially begun its tournament to crown the first-ever Knockouts Television Champion, with two competitors already advancing to the second round.
The new championship was announced at Slammiversary as part of an expansion of the Knockouts division. The title is set to be defended exclusively on Impact, and a 16-woman tournament was established to determine the inaugural champion.
The opening matches took place on the July 2, 2026 episode of TNA Impact. Mara Sade and Heather by Elegance emerged as the first two wrestlers to move forward in the bracket.

Mara Sade secured her spot in the second round by defeating Tasha Steelz in a first-round match. In another bout, Heather by Elegance advanced after picking up a win over Allie. These results mark the first progress in a tournament that will continue to unfold over the coming weeks.
The tournament also features talent from outside TNA, including WWE NXT competitors Thea Hail and Wendy Choo. Their involvement comes through the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA, adding further attention to the competition.
With two matches completed, several first-round bouts are still scheduled to take place. The remaining matches will determine the rest of the field for the second round as the tournament continues.

The introduction of the Knockouts Television Championship adds another title to the division and provides a new platform for weekly competition on Impact. As the tournament progresses, more names will advance and move closer to becoming the first champion.
