Nic Nemeth is once again the TNA World Champion after defeating Mike Santana at Slammiversary on Sunday night at Agganis Arena in Boston.

The match reached its turning point late, as Santana, who had been busted open earlier in the contest, struggled to execute his Spin the Block finisher. That opening allowed Nemeth to take control and deliver his Danger Zone finisher to secure the pinfall victory.
Following the match, Nemeth celebrated in the ring alongside Ryan Nemeth as the show went off the air, marking a major moment to close the event.
This victory marks the 66th title change in the history of the TNA World Championship, which dates back to 2007. With the win, Nemeth becomes the 16th wrestler to hold the title on multiple occasions.
This is Nemeth’s second reign as TNA World Champion. His first came at Slammiversary in 2024, where he won an elimination match against Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, Joe Hendry, and Frankie Kazarian.
Santana’s second title reign comes to an end after 164 days, during which he recorded six successful defenses. He initially captured the championship from Kazarian on the January 15, 2026 episode of Impact.
Before that, Santana first won the TNA World Championship at Bound For Glory 2025, defeating Trick Williams. His initial reign was short-lived, as he dropped the title the following month to Kazarian on a live episode of Impact from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
Nemeth’s latest win adds another chapter to his career in TNA and reshapes the top of the promotion heading out of Slammiversary.
