TNA Wrestling has confirmed the introduction of a new title for its Knockouts division. The announcement was made during the Slammiversary pre-show at Agganis Arena in Boston by Traci Brooks.
Brooks revealed that a 16-woman tournament will begin on the upcoming episode of Impact Wrestling. The winner of this tournament will become the first-ever TNA Knockouts Television Champion, marking a new addition to the company’s women’s division.
“Starting this Thursday night, there will be a 16-woman tournament beginning. And at the end of that tournament, we will crown the first-ever TNA Knockout Television Champion.”

Brooks also confirmed that the new title will have a unique stipulation. It will be defended exclusively on episodes of Impact Wrestling, giving the weekly show a consistent championship focus within the Knockouts division.
“This championship will be defended exclusively on Impact television. And to my Knockouts, this is an opportunity once again to prove why you are the greatest women’s division in professional wrestling. Ladies, let’s make history.”
The announcement came shortly after the opening match of the pre-show, where Elayna Black picked up a win in a three-way contest against Mara Sadé and Indi Hartwell.
This development follows earlier reports indicating that TNA had been considering adding a mid-card championship for the Knockouts roster. The creation of the Knockouts Television Championship now confirms those plans and provides more opportunities for talent within the division.
With the tournament set to begin on Impact Wrestling, attention now turns to which competitors will enter the bracket and who will ultimately make history as the inaugural champion.
