The June 29 episode of WWE RAW closed with a major development, as Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins was officially confirmed for WWE SummerSlam.
Roman Reigns accepts Seth Rollins challenge on WWE RAW
Reigns appeared in the main event segment following the fallout from WWE Night of Champions 2026. Standing in the ring with Jacob Fatu by his side, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion addressed the crowd in Atlantic City, receiving a strong reaction as fans acknowledged him.
The moment was interrupted when Rollins made his entrance. With the crowd singing along, he entered alone and stood across from his former Shield teammate. The Usos were not present, as they had already competed earlier in the night, leaving Reigns backed only by Fatu.
“Hello, my brother,” Rollins said as he began addressing Reigns, referencing their shared history in The Shield and the long-standing rivalry that has connected them for over a decade. He stated it was “time to collect,” signaling that he was ready to challenge for Reigns’ championship.
Reigns responded by dismissing Rollins’ claim, telling him he was at the back of the line. Rollins pushed back, stating that he “owns” Reigns and revisited their history, including Reigns’ dominant run and his inability to defeat Rollins. He also reminded everyone of his betrayal that ended The Shield.
Rollins then framed the match as something only he could offer, giving Reigns the opportunity to finally defeat him and gain closure. He warned that turning him down would mean never escaping his past.
Reigns made his position clear in response.
“I don’t want to beat you; I need to beat you. I need my family to see it. At SummerSlam, that’s exactly what I’m gonna do. I accept, brother.”
With that, the match was made official. Reigns raised his championship above Rollins to close the segment, confirming one of the biggest matches set for SummerSlam.
