Former WWE Champion Sheamus is expected to leave WWE after declining a new contract offer, signaling the end of his long tenure with the company.
Sheamus has already removed WWE references from his social media profiles, a move that often precedes an official departure. While he remains under contract as of now, he is set to exit once his current deal expires.
The change is also reflected on WWE’s official website, where Sheamus has been moved to the alumni section. This update typically indicates that a talent is no longer part of the active roster or is on the way out of the company.
Sheamus WWE Career and Injury Status
Sheamus signed with WWE in 2007 as part of the developmental system and made his main roster debut in 2009. In a rapid rise, he captured the WWE Championship that same year by defeating John Cena, establishing himself as a top star early in his run.
Throughout his career, “The Celtic Warrior” has built one of the most accomplished résumés in WWE history. His achievements include winning the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship, RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championships, the Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, and King of the Ring.
Sheamus has not competed since November 17, 2025, when he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh) on RAW. He later underwent shoulder surgery in December, which has kept him out of action.
With his contract set to expire and no new agreement in place, Sheamus’ departure appears imminent. His exit would mark the end of a run that began nearly two decades ago and saw him become one of WWE’s most decorated and recognizable stars.
