WWE announcer Corey Graves seems to have the itch to wrestle again. On Twitter, he sent out this short tweet, “I kinda wanna wrestle again.”
Graves got physical this past Monday on Raw when he briefly won and then lost the WWE 24/7 Championship to Byron Saxton. The title ultimately was passed around among other wrestlers until Reggie won it back.
This isn’t the first time Graves has talked about a possible in-ring return.
Last year during an interview with Edge, Graves said on his “After The Bell” podcast that Edge’s “WWE 24” documentary inspired him. Graves said, “It was an awesome look, and you and I have gotten along for quite some time and watching it, honestly man, it was inspiring and I would say at two, three different points I went, ‘Man, I live in Pittsburgh now. I should go find Dr. Maroon.’ It just gave me that urge to do all this all over again. I don’t know whether or not that’s a possibility but, the thought was planted in my brain for quite some time so…”
Shortly after those comments, Graves’ brother Sam Adonis tweeted that he and Graves trained together and it was the first time Graves had done anything in the ring in years.
Graves announced his retirement on December 11, 2014 because of his concussion issues. Upon his retirement, he joined the NXT broadcast team and then moved up to the main roster in 2016
