Vic Joseph Comments on Corey Graves Controversy

Vic Joseph Comments on Corey Graves ControversyNXT commentator Vic Joseph has addressed the controversy surrounding Corey Graves’ move to NXT, following Graves’ candid remarks earlier this year about being told he wasn’t “famous enough” for RAW or SmackDown.

Back in January, Graves tweeted his frustration over the situation, stating that after years of dedication, he was essentially told he didn’t have the star power to remain on WWE’s main roster broadcasts. This led to speculation that he was genuinely unhappy about being shifted to NXT.

Joseph, who now shares the NXT commentary booth with Booker T and Graves, spoke about the situation on the Getting Over podcast. He revealed that while Graves was initially frustrated, he eventually embraced the change.

“I think he had to have a new set of eyes and take a deep breath. And something we’ve always talked about… we used to travel in the car together… was, ‘Hey man, it’d be cool to call the shows together one day.’ And I think once he and I had the talk, like, ‘Dude, this is what we’ve always talked about,’ he was kind of like, ‘Yeah, you’re right.’”

Joseph also noted that Graves has since adjusted to the new role and found a balance within the three-man team in NXT.

“Now, he doesn’t have to do as much. Now he can take a deep breath. Now he can take a step back and understand that it is three of us, three unique individuals, three distinct personalities for one goal, for one show.”

Graves, who has been with WWE for over a decade, transitioned to commentary after his in-ring career was cut short due to injury. While his initial move to NXT may not have been his choice, Joseph suggests that Graves has since found a new perspective on the situation.
