WWE Smackdown Opener:
Tonight’s WWE SmackDown opens up with General Manager Daniel Bryan and Commissioner Shane McMahon backstage. They talk about how the show is all about the fans now and make their way out to Daniel Bryan’s theme. We go to a new intro video and theme song.
Shane and Bryan enter the ring. The SmackDown roster is gathered all around the apron. Mauro Ranallo, JBL and David Otunga are on commentary. Fans chant for Shane and he thanks them. Shane talks about opportunity and announces that SmackDown will begin holding their own pay-per-views with Backlash on September 11th. Shane introduces the undisputed WWE Champion Dean Ambrose. Ambrose comes out to a pop and wonders who will step up to face him. Bryan announces a Six Pack Challenge for tonight. The winner faces Ambrose at SummerSlam. Bryan announces John Cena as the first entrant. Cena steps through the ropes and stands beside Ambrose. Bray Wyatt is in next, followed by Dolph Ziggler. Baron Corbin and AJ Styles are the last two. Bryan announces that the 6th spot will be filled by the winner of a battle royal, which is next. We go to commercial.
Battle Royal for the Final Six Pack Challenge Spot: Zack Ryder, Kane, Konnor, Viktor, Mojo Rawley, Simon Gotch, Aiden English, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Kalisto, Erick Rowan, Tyler Breeze, Fandango, Apollo Crews, Alberto Del Rio
The bell rings and half of the people go after Kane while the other half goes after Erick Rowan. Simon Gotch is eliminated by Kane. Kane punches Konnor while Breeze holds on to save himself and Fandango punches Jey. Del Rio goees after Kalisto. English with a double sledge to Rawley’s back. Konnor and Viktor work over Kane. Kane sends Konnor and Viktor over the top rope to eliminate them. Kane punches Kalisto while Rawley fpunches Fandango when he tries to eliminate Ryder. Del Rio goes to the apron but returns back to the ring. Kane with an uppercut to Kalisto.
English goes to the apron but he rolls back in. Jey punches Del Rio and then he puts Del Rio on the turnbuckles. Del Rio with a cross arm breaker on Jey while hanging from the ropes. Rawley sends Fandango into the turnbuckles. Kalisto kicks Crews and Del Rio with a step up enzuigiri to Kane. Del Rio tries to eliminate Kane. Jey with super kicks to English and Ryder. Fandango holds on to the ropes and Breeze with a super kick and Jey is eliminated by Breeze and Fandango as we go to commercial.
We are back and we are told that Aiden English and Erick Rowan were eliminated during the break. Mojo eliminated Rowan but we go back to live action and Rawley is eliminated by Del Rio. Kalisto is sent to the apron and Del Rio clotheslines Ryder and he hits a lungblower on Crews. Del Rio is eliminated after a rana from Kalisto and a double clothesline from Ryder and Crews. Kane eliminates Breeze and Fandango.
We are down to the final four and it is Kalisto, Kane, Zack Ryder, and Apollo Crews. Ryder with a missile drop kick and Crews with a standing moonsault to Kane. Kalisto wtih a springboard splash onto Kane. Ryder is the first to his feet and he snap mares Kalisto and drop kicks Kalisto in the back of the head. Ryder tries to eliminate Crews but Apollo holds on to the ropes.
Crews tries to eliminate Ryder and Kalisto helps but Ryder fights his way back to the mat. Ryder with a neck breaker to Kalisto and Kalisto is sent to the apron. Crews clotheslines Ryder over the top rope. Kalisto with a springboard seated splash to Crews followed by Salida Del Sol. Ryder punches Crews and then Kalisto with a spike rana to Crews. Kane throws Kalisto over the top rope and then he punches Ryder and Crews.
Kane with splashes to Ryder and Crews. Kane misses a splash and Ryder hits the Broski Boot on Kane and then he hits a running knee on Crews. Ryder waits for Kane to get up but Kane eliminates Ryder. Kane grabs Crews by the throat but Crews flips and he ducks down as Kane charges at him and Kane is unable to stop so he goes over the top rope to get eliminated.
Winner: Apollo Crews
After the match, Renee Young interviews Apollo Crews. He says he is not going to celebrate until he wins the Six Way Match tonight and gets his match at SummerSlam.
– We see Becky Lynch and Natalya walking backstage. Back to commercial.
– We have a Shelton Benjamin video package because he is coming back to Smackdown soon.
Backstage:
Dolph Ziggler says he has been banging his head on the glass ceiling. Every night he does what he does best. He tries to steal the show. On the way, he got lost. He drifted away from the kid from Cleveland who saw his first WWE show at age 5. He lost his way, but tonight it starts all over again. It is not in the GM or Commissioner’s hand. It is in his hands. When the main event ends, it will be him taking his place at SummerSlam.
Becky Lynch vs. Natalya
They lock up and Natalya with a side head lock take down. Becky with a head scissors and Natalya escapes. Becky with a side head lock take down and Natalya with a head scissors and Becky escapes. Natalya with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Natalya handsprings over Becky with Becky with a drop kick and Natalya goes to the floor. Natalya sends Becky to the mat and Natalya chokes Becky in the ropes and she slams Becky. Natalya sends Becky to the mat again and she walks over Becky. Natalya wtih a sleeper. Becky with a near fall. Natalya tries for an O’Connor Roll but Becky holds on to the ropes. Becky with clotheslines and a drop kick. Becky misses a splash into the corner. Becky with an elbow and she goes to the turnbuckles but Natalya pulls Becky off the ropes as we go to commercial.
We are back and Natalya with an abdominal stretch but Becky escapes with a hip toss. Becky with an elbow and forearms. Becky with a European uppercut and forearm. Natalya sends Becky into the turnbuckles. Becky has a kick blocked but Becky with an enzuigiri and both women are down until Becky goes up top. Becky with a leg drop for a near fall. Becky goes for DisArmHer but Natalya takes Becky down. Natalya with a German suplex and she gets a near fall. Natalya sets for the discus clothesline but Becky blocks it and she rolls Natalya up and tries for the DisArmHer but Natalya escapes. Natalya with a discus clothesline for a near fall.
Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter but Becky counters into DisArmHer and Natalya taps out.
Winner: Becky Lynch
Renee asks Becky about her win and Becky says you should call her Becky Balboa.
Alexa Bliss interrupts and she says Smackdown is getting ready for a Lisstation from their newest star. Becky might have been the first women drafted on Smackdown, but she is the personification of the Women’s Division.
Naomi interrupts and she wants to know how could Alexa come out and run her mouth if she has not wrestled. Naomi says she is going to shine.
Carmella interrupts and she says Tuesday night is about to get Fab-U-Lous.
Eva Marie makes her way out she gets a professional introduction that is full of adjectives about her.
– We go to commercial with Miz and Maryse walking in the back.
Backstage:
We are back and Baron Corbin says he is not winning this match for mom or dad. He is not winning this for anyone on the Smackdown Roster. He is not winning this for anyone in Buffalo. He is winning this for himself.
The MizTV:
Maryse is in the ring and she introduce her husband The Miz.
Miz welcomes everyone to MizTV and he says it exclusive to Smackdown. He says tonight, the Legend Killer is here. Through Evolution, he has built a Legacy. Miz introduces himself.
He says it is an honor and privilege to be in the ring with the Miz. He asks himself how can he be so humble when everyone looks up to him. MIz says everyone needs a hero. He is everything the people are not. He is a WWE Superstar, he is a movie star, he is married to the perfect woman, and he is Intercontinental Champion. He wants everyone to be proud of him because the people cannot be proud of themselves.
Miz asks Maryse what it is like to be married to Miz. She says her reality is better than everyone’s dreams since she is married to him.
Randy Orton’s music interrupts and the pants wearing streak is over at one show.
Randy says he was in the back and he heard Miz’ opening monologue and since it sounded like Miz was talking about him, he came out. Randy says Miz was wonderful on the mic and he showed that he is an expert at playing with himself. Miz says Randy is like the Blair Witch Project. He wants to know why Randy interrupted when he has a match in four weeks against Brock Lesnar.
Randy reminds Miz he made a good living killing legends. He is going to Suplex City and it will be a long bumpy road. It will only take one RKO to send Brock’s ass to Viperville. Miz says it is a shame that Randy accepted the match with Lesnar because SummerSlam will be his last. Randy says SummerSlam won’t be his last match, but it also doesn’t have to be his first match back. Why not have his first match back tonight? Why not have that return take place against the Intercontinental Champion?
Miz asks everyone if they want to see that match and after they appear interested in the match, he says no. You don’t just get a chance at the Intercontinental Title. Randy says the title does not have to be on the line, so why not something between friends. Miz says they are friends since he beat Randy for the WWE Title. He says he is not falling for Randy’s tricks. Randy asks Miz if he is afraid of getting his ass whipped in front of Miz’ wife. Maryse tell Randy how dare you talk about her husband like that Her husband accept that challenge. Back to commercial.
Randy Orton vs. Miz (with Maryse) in a Non Title Match
The bell rings and Miz goes to the floor because he is not ready. He talks to Maryse and returns to the ring. MIz kicks and punches Orton and sends him to the floor. Orton holds his shoudler and Miz punches Orton. Miz kicks Orton in the shoulder. Miz sends Orton shoulder first into the ringside barrier. Miz sends Orton back into the ring and MIz with a boot to the shoulder. Miz punches and kicks Orton in the corner.
Orton goes to the floor and Miz follows. Orton with a punch and European uppercut. Orton is Irish whipped into the ring steps. Miz sends Orton into the ringside barrier and then Orton is returned to the ring but Orton with an RKO and Orton does not cover MIz. Orton looks around and he leans against the ropes as he waits for Miz to move. Orton gets up and he does the RKO pushups and hits another RKO for the three count.
Winner: Randy Orton

In the Arena:
Heath Slater comes into the ring and he kicks the man who was in the next match and he takes the mic.
Heath says he has been thinking a little bit. There had to be a mistake. How could Heath Slater not get drafted to Raw or Smackdown? If Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan want to lead Smackdown into the New Era? How about put Heath Slater in the main event and make that Six Pack Challenge into a Magnificent Seven Pack Challenge. Slater starts a “Sign Heath Slater’ chant and the people are chanting it.
Shane McMahon comes out and he reminds Heath this is Smackdown Live. That means they are live right now. He says there are better ways to get a job. He can send a resume.
Heath says he is sure that Shane has the WWE Network so he can watch some Heath Slater matches for his resume. Heath was the brain behind Nexus, the Corre, the One Mand Band, 3MB, and the Social Outcasts. He is a three time tag team champion. If he is given the chance, he will prove why he is the hottest free agent.
Rhyno comes from under the ring and Heath thinks the people are cheering for him. Shane says he is looking at the hottest free agent. Slater turns around and Rhyno GORES Slater!
Backstage:
AJ Styles says this sounds like the old era. What do Shane and Daniel have against him? Is he too good? They don’t draft the Club and then he has to face five other guys to qualify to face Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam. AJ says he is the obvious pick. Without the Club, he will beat up Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, Apollo Crews, and Dolph Ziggler. He will also beat up John Cena. We go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Bray Wyatt says it is part of life. Some things always stay the same. He says he is Bray Wyatt, the eater of worlds. He is the beginning and the end. It all revolves around him. Tonight, five men will fall and soon, he will truly have the whole world in his hands. Buffalo… I’m Here.
#1 Contender Six Pack Challenge: Bray Wyatt vs. Apollo Crews vs. Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. AJ Styles vs. John Cena
We go to the ring and Wyatt makes his way out. Apollo Crews is out next followed by Baron Corbin. Dolph Ziggler is out next followed by AJ Styles to a pop. John Cena is out last to a loud mixed reaction.
Wyatt attacks Cena to start. Corbin tosses Ziggler to the floor. AJ and Cena go at it now. Corbin and Wyatt go at it. We go to commercial with chaos in the ring.
We are back and Wyatt holds Crews for Styles to kick him. Styles with a Phenomenal knee drop. Wyatt with a back senton while Cena, Corbin, and Ziggler are on the floor. Styles comes off the ropes and Wyatt with a clothesline to Styles so the alliance is over. Ziggler with a drop kick to Styles and then he hits a splash on Wyatt followed by a neck breaker and elbow drop. Corbin pulls Ziggler to the floor and he punches Ziggler. Styles with a sliding knee on the apron to Corbin. Styles wtih a springboard 450 to Wyatt and he gets a near fall that is broken up by Cena.
Cena with an Irish whip but Styles floats over. Styles with an Ushigoroshi on Cena and then Crews hits three German suplexes on Styles. Corbin wtih an STO to Crews and he gets a near fall. Corbin yells at the referee about his ability to count to three. Corbin stomps on Crews. Corbin with a back elbow for a near fall on Crews. Corbin rakes at the face and he applies a quarter nelson and chin lock. Crews with punches but Corbin with a forearm. Corbin with a splash into the corner. Corbin gets a near fall as we go to commercial.
We are back and Crews and Corbin with dueling Tower of Doom moves. Crews and Corbin are in the ring and they exchange punches until Corbin hits Deep Six for a near fall. Crews flips out of End of Days and Crews with the toss power bomb but Wyatt pulls out the referee. Wyatt wtih the crab walk and Crews is in shock. Wyatt with Sister Abigail but Wyatt took care of the referee. Ziggler with Zig Zag and Ziggler has Wyatt pinned but the referee is down with a knee injury. Ziggler sets for a super kick but Cena with an Attitude Adjustment on Ziggler.. Styles with a Pele Kick to Wyatt. Cena with an Attitude Adjustment to Styles but the referee is not ready to make the cover so Styles kicks out.
Crews goes up and he hits a cross body but Cena rolls through and holds on. He gets Crews on his shoudlers for Attitude Adjustment. Cena does the same to Wyatt. Cena tries to get Corbin up but Corbin with elbows. Cena is able to get Corbin up and he finishes the Attitude Adjustment circuit. Styles with a Phenomenal Forearm but Ziggler with a super kick to Styles for the three count.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
After the match, ZIggler celebrates his victory in the ring.
Dean Ambrose’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring to confront his opponent in Brooklyn. Daniel Bryan comes to the ring to raise both men’s arms. Not to be outdone, Shane McMahon Shane-O Shuffles his way to the ring and he congratulates Ziggler.
We go to credits.
