– WWE SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon confirmed on tonight’s show that the brand will begin doing their own pay-per-views with the September 11th Backlash pay-per-view from Richmond, Virginia.
– TMZ is reporting WWE will not suspend Brock Lesnar for his UFC anti-doping violations as part of the WWE Wellness Policy because he is technically exempt from it due to being a part-time WWE performer.
TMZ says they were told by a WWE spokesperson that Lesnar will perform at Summerslam, and will not face action by WWE because only full-time performers are subject to the Wellness Policy. TMZ confirmed Lesnar has only wrestled 19 matches over the past three years; the statement given by the spokesperson was as follows:
“WWE’s talent wellness program does not apply to part-time performers such as Brock Lesnar.”
