NXT Results – September 22, 2026 – Welcome to Wrestling Attitude’s live coverage of NXT for September 22, 2026, coming to you from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida!

A taped vignette from Cody Rhodes opened the show, running down the legacy of the Dusty Classic and the man behind it. Even in 2026, Dusty’s spirit still frames the tournament.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic – First Round Los Americanos (Rayo & Bravo) vs. Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar

Rayo and Dar started with quick switches until Bravo danced in to meet Moreno. They ran the ropes until Bravo caught Moreno with an atomic drop and tagged Rayo, who fired off open‑hand chops. Moreno tripped Rayo and Dar hit a blind‑tag kick.

Rayo grabbed a headlock, Dar slipped out and swept him down. Rayo answered with strikes, but Dar caught him in a body scissor. Bravo broke it by scooping Moreno and slamming him onto Dar. Dar and Moreno spilled outside, and Bravo dove through the ropes Matador‑style onto both.

Rayo dragged Dar back in and stomped his hand. Moreno tagged and sent Rayo to the corner. They traded suplex attempts until Rayo hit an X‑Plex for two. Bravo entered for a double headbutt, then stretched Moreno in a back hold before trying a backslide for two. Los Americanos kept fast tags rolling to work Moreno over.

Moreno finally hit a powerbomb on Bravo and crawled toward Dar, but Rayo cut him off. Dar met him halfway, cleared the ring, hit a suplex on Bravo, and locked in an ankle lock. Bravo rolled through, but Dar kept striking. Moreno tagged in, Dar held Bravo for a top‑rope double stomp. Dar tagged back in and climbed the second rope — Bravo stacked both men on his back and hit a double airplane spin into back body drops.

Rayo and Bravo hit stereo headbutts from the turnbuckles, but the cover was broken up. Dar baited Rayo into a kneebar, Moreno superkicked Bravo. Rayo escaped and face‑slammed Dar, but Moreno broke the pin.

Bravo and Rayo pounded Dar until Moreno shoved them off. Moreno hit a missile dropkick, but Bravo pump‑kicked him to the floor for Rayo to follow up. Bravo went for a Tiger Driver, Dar countered into another ankle lock. Bravo forced Dar over and countered with a suplex.

Moreno got caught outside by a Rayo elbow. Bravo hit a superrana from the top rope on Dar, and Rayo followed with a splash — Dar somehow kicked out. Rayo bent Dar’s fingers back, stomped his hand, and tagged Bravo.

Dar hit a back elbow, sent Rayo outside, and Moreno superplexed Bravo. Dar tagged in and they hit a high/low combination on Bravo to score the three.

Winners: Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar (advance in the 2026 Dusty Classic)

– We saw Grayson Waller narrating last week’s triple threat match that crowned Mason Rook as the new #1 Contender to the NXT World Title. Waller framed it like only he can — smug, fast‑talking, and making sure the spotlight never leaves him — even when the story was about Rook’s win.

Kendal Grey — NXT Therapy Session

Kendal Grey was shown speaking with what appeared to be a therapist inside the brand‑new NXT Therapy Playset. Grey opened up about her vertigo, explaining how it’s keeping her from regaining her championship and leaving her unsure of her future.

She compared the feeling to when she suffered an injury back in university — except this time, she can’t see the injury, so she doesn’t know how to measure the healing. Grey admitted she doesn’t know what’s happening or when she’ll be able to return.

The therapist ended the session by asking Kendal to think about who she is outside of wrestling — a question that clearly hit her harder than any opponent.

Kali Armstrong vs. Skylar Raye

Skylar Raye jumped Armstrong last week, so tonight they finally squared up.

Raye flew off the top rope at the bell, but Armstrong caught her and threw her into the corner for heavy strikes. With Armstrong’s size and power advantage, Raye relied on speed to stay alive. She hit a headscissors that sent Armstrong to the floor to regroup.

Armstrong checked under the ring for something, didn’t find it, and slid back in throwing jabs. She dropped Raye with a powerslam and went for a buckle bomb, but Raye rolled through and tried to stack her up for two. Raye hit a crossbody off the ropes and followed with body shots.

Raye caught Armstrong with a spin kick, but Armstrong answered with a running powerslam. Armstrong locked in a headlock, Raye fought out and went back to the body. Raye tried another crossbody — Armstrong caught her and launched her with a fallaway slam. Armstrong hit two corner spears and a suplex for a near fall.

Raye managed a backstabber and hit a gut punch to slow Armstrong down. She picked up speed with a hip attack in the corner and a satellite DDT. Raye went up top and hit a frog splash, but Armstrong kicked out at two.

Armstrong fired back with a spinning slam and a spinebuster, but Raye kicked out again. Raye climbed for a blockbuster, Armstrong caught her and countered into a powerslam. Armstrong ran the ropes and accidentally collided with the referee.

That’s when Reina Volcan appeared. Volcan stormed the ring and took out both Raye and Armstrong. She dragged Raye’s arm over Armstrong’s chest. The referee came to just in time to count the three.

Winner: Skylar Raye

Robert Stone, Saquon Shugars & Shiloh Hill

Inside the ever‑chaotic Robert Stone Office, Saquon Shugars and Shiloh Hill were deep in conversation… about talking raccoons and poison mist. Stone looked absolutely offended — not confused, not annoyed, offended — by whatever nonsense they were rambling about.

He finally cut them off and said he’d “see about getting them matches for next week,” clearly just wanting them out of his office before the raccoon lore continued.

– Footage was shown from earlier of Wren Sinclair being reminded that she’s suspended byt Robert Stone and security.

Kelani Jordan & Zaria vs. La Catalina & Thea Hail

From last week’s endless interruption circle, we finally got the actual match.

Thea Hail charged Zaria at the bell, but Kelani Jordan tagged in immediately. Hail hit a shoulder block, Jordan answered with a dropkick. Hail tripped her with a drop toe hold and tagged in La Catalina for stereo hip attacks. Zaria tried to jump in, but Hail pulled the top rope down and sent her stumbling out.

Hail held the ropes open so Catalina could dive onto both champions, then dropped onto the pile herself. They danced for a moment before everyone reset in the ring. Catalina dropkicked Jordan into the corner and tagged Hail for double back elbows.

Hail worked Jordan’s arm, wrenching an armbar until Jordan countered with a roll‑up and tagged Zaria. Zaria hit a discus lariat and rag‑dolled Hail around the mat. She hit a corner elbow and a suplex for two. Jordan tagged in and they hit a double suplex. Zaria returned and lifted Hail into a long staaaaaalllling suplex, but Hail countered into a sleeper. Zaria threw her off, Jordan blind‑tagged, and Zaria hit a backdrop so Jordan could land a second‑rope moonsault — Hail kicked out.

Jordan locked in an abdominal stretch, Hail reversed into one of her own. Hail dodged and weaved but couldn’t reach Catalina. Jordan hit a wheelbarrow suplex, Zaria tagged in for a spear, and Jordan knocked Catalina off the apron.

Hail ran Zaria into the ringpost, dumped Jordan outside, and crawled for the tag. Catalina stretched as far as she could — Hail made it and hit a missile dropkick on Zaria. Catalina suplexed Jordan and rolled up Zaria for two. She set both champions in opposite corners and hit multiple hip attacks, sending Booker T into meltdown mode.

Zaria grabbed Hail for an F5, but Hail rolled through and stacked her up for the three.

Winners: Thea Hail & La Catalina

Dorian Van Dux, Sean Legacy, Zilla Fatu & EK Prosper

In the locker room, Dorian Van Dux tried convincing Sean Legacy and Zilla Fatu that his collapsed lung “wasn’t that bad” and that he’d still be in the match tonight. Legacy shut that down immediately — he didn’t want DVD anywhere near the ring in that condition.

Legacy told him he already had a replacement lined up: EK Prosper.

DVD took a moment, then nodded and said he understood.

Cruz Montana Confronts Dion Lennox

Cruz Montana hit the ring and started running through last week’s chaos — right up until Dion Lennox arrived. Lennox grabbed a mic and immediately went for the throat, saying nobody cares about Montana. Montana told him to shut up and send his “bum‑ass friends” to work the Dusty Cup and face him in the ring.

Lennox fired back, saying Montana was “the man in TNA,” but he’s not better than Lennox. He was furious Montana called EK Prosper the future of NXT. Montana said he’s struggled, worked hard, paid his dues, and earned the right to say whatever he wants. Lennox has nothing on him.

Montana said Lennox only got into wrestling because nothing else worked out for him — while Montana earned his way in. Lennox responded with a low blow: “Wasn’t your mama a drug dealer?” He claimed he did everything right and WWE begged him to come to NXT, yet people hate him and love Montana.

Lennox said Montana is no hero and that Lennox has always been somebody. That pushed Montana over the edge and the two brawled all the way toward the back.

Robert Stone’s Office — Mason Rook, Hank & Tank

In the Robert Stone Office Playset, Stone congratulated Mason Rook on last week’s win. Hank & Tank barged in, offering Rook some pumped‑up encouragement for his upcoming promo. Rook left, and the duo thanked Stone for putting them in the Dusty Classic.

They then launched into a rambling, nonsensical monologue that Stone clearly didn’t understand — but he nodded along anyway, saying “good to hear it” until the segment ended.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic – First Round: The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius) vs. Harley Riggins & Jax Presley

Former NXT Tag Team Champions and 2022 Dusty Cup winners Brutus and Julius Creed returned to tournament action, facing Evolve’s Harley Riggins and Jax Presley. The challengers didn’t even get an entrance — never a great omen — and the Creeds proved why.

They jumped Riggins and Presley before the bell. Once it rang, Julius immediately suplexed Presley. The Creeds tried a double‑team, but Presley fought them off long enough to clothesline Julius and then knock him over the top rope. Presley followed him out, only to get thrown into the steps by Brutus.

Brutus rolled Presley back inside, where the Creeds hit a double knee strike. Julius whipped Presley into the corner and knocked Riggins off the apron to block the tag. Riggins managed a blind tag and came in hot, briefly clearing house. Presley hoisted Julius on his shoulders for Riggins — but Brutus launched Riggins across the ring, and Julius suplexed Presley into oblivion.

That was all it took.

Winners: The Creed Brothers

Zilla Fatu, EK Prosper & Sean Legacy vs. BirthRight (Stacks, Uriah Connors & Lexis King)

BirthRight still desperately want Zilla Fatu in their group, and Fatu is still very much not interested. So instead of a rom‑com makeover, we got a six‑man tag — with Dorian Van Dux out due to his collapsed lung and EK Prosper stepping in as Legacy’s hand‑picked replacement.

Legacy and Stacks opened the match, Legacy using his speed to get the early advantage and hitting a standing moonsault for two. Connors jumped in, but Prosper tagged himself in and ran circles around him before landing a dropkick. Connors answered with corner isolation, letting Lexis King come in for a clothesline and kicks. Prosper caught King with a high kick for two.

Fatu tagged in and scooped King up, slamming him repeatedly. Stacks and Connors tried to help, but Fatu wiped them out while Booker T shouted “rumble bad man, rumble.” Stacks tried working Fatu but got thrown with a belly‑to‑belly. Prosper tagged in, and Fatu literally threw him at Connors. Then Fatu whipped Legacy into Stacks while Prosper dove onto BirthRight. All three babyfaces hit a triple dive over the top rope.

BirthRight regrouped and isolated Legacy, tagging in and out to wear him down. Legacy fought back with an arm drag on King, Prosper tagged in, and hit a stomp from the top rope. Prosper worked Stacks’ arm until Stacks escaped and tagged Connors. They double‑teamed Prosper but couldn’t finish him. Prosper countered a suplex into a cutter, then hit a hurricanrana on Stacks for two before King broke it up.

Fatu tagged in and clotheslined King, then dove onto him outside. In the ring, Stacks and Prosper battled while Connors added combo offense. Connors hit a high kick and a cutter for two. Prosper dodged a charge and got the hot tag to Fatu, who steamrolled all of BirthRight — until King superkicked him, which Fatu no‑sold. King tagged out anyway and still ate a Samoan Drop. Fatu crushed Connors with a hip attack in the corner.

Ariana Grace distracted the referee, allowing Connors to roll up Legacy for the win.

Winners: BirthRight

After the match, King got in Fatu’s face and was seconds away from a Samoan Spike before BirthRight dragged him out of the ring.

Backstage Update

Thea Hail will receive a shot at Zaria’s NXT Women’s North American Championship. Izzi Dame then appeared, played footage of Zaria performing in a high‑school play, and left. That was the entire segment.

Mason Rook & Grayson Waller — Final Face‑Off Before Next Week’s Title Match

Last week, Mason Rook earned his shot at the NXT Championship by winning the triple threat — while Grayson Waller ran on a treadmill and talked trash. Tonight, they finally stood face‑to‑face.

Waller stopped the production assistant from handing Rook a microphone, saying Rook “doesn’t know how to use it.” He claimed he’s restoring prestige to the NXT Title by defending it against “the best,” which apparently includes Rook. Then came the fat jokes — one after another — as Waller ran through his promo checklist, mixing insults with more digs about Rook’s size.

Waller said Rook has “quit” in him, calling him soft and lazy, the exact type of guy who forced Waller to return to NXT. He promised to work Rook until he quits. Then he finally handed Rook the mic… with one more fat joke.

Rook didn’t bite. He said he’s not stupid — he knows exactly what Waller is trying to do. Rook said there’s a theory about why Waller is back in NXT: he doesn’t fit the “Vision” of the main roster. Or maybe he’s just bitter that John Cena knew who Mason Rook was before Waller even arrived in NXT.

Rook said he’s not here because he failed somewhere else. He’s here because he earned it — because he’s the best big man in the game. And when he chokes Waller out, no jokes, no treadmill, and no promo time will save him.
