Confusion surrounding the broadcast distribution for WWE x AAA Worlds Collide appears to have taken another major turn. After initial internal reports suggested the interpromotional supercard would function primarily as an un-aired live event or taped special, updated reports indicate the current expectation inside WWE is for the show to air live on YouTube.
The initial speculation began earlier in the week when Fightful Select and PWInsider Elite reported that WWE was treating the September 26 show at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, like a traditional house show rather than a broadcast production. Those initial reports noted that while the event would likely be recorded—with potential distribution earmarked for Club WWE or YouTube at a later date—a live broadcast was not locked into place.
However, reporter Andrew Baydala provided an update indicating a shift in internal direction:
“A quick update on Worlds Collide—those I spoke with yesterday and today are under the impression the show will air LIVE on YouTube. Obviously things can change but, that is the current direction and distribution of that show on Saturday.”
The original reports created widespread confusion among fans, particularly given the high-profile nature of the card. On the September 19 episode of AAA on FOX, AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio officially revealed the complete lineup, headlined by a star-studded six-man tag match featuring CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, and AAA Mega Champion El Grande Americano against Omos, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh.
Furthermore, with Worlds Collide running head-to-head on September 26 against AEW All Out—taking place just a short drive away at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates—holding back a live broadcast of a stacked card seemed counterintuitive to market strategy.
While WWE has not issued an official press release regarding streaming logistics, the latest consensus points toward YouTube serving as the live broadcast home for Saturday’s event.
