The prestigious Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is officially back. WWE NXT has revealed the entire 14-team field set to battle for the tournament trophy, with action kicking off on the Tuesday, September 22 episode.
This year’s field bridges talent across WWE NXT, WWE RAW, WWE SmackDown, WWE EVOLVE, and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. Both reigning NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project and AAA Tag Team Champions The Wagner Brothers have earned automatic first-round byes in the bracket.

Tournament History & High-Stakes Context
First introduced in 2015 to honor the late WWE Hall of Famer and developmental mentor “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, the tournament has served as a career-launching pad for some of WWE’s premier tag teams. Past tournament winners include Finn Bálor & Samoa Joe (2015), The Authors of Pain (2016), The Undisputed ERA (2018), Ricochet & Aleister Black (2019), The BroserWeights (2020), MSK (2021), The Creed Brothers (2022), and The Wolf Dogs (2024).
With Julius and Brutus Creed back in the bracket, the Diamond Mine powerhouses are attempting to join an elite group by capturing their second Dusty Cup trophy.
