Former TNA World Champion Moose has heard the online narrative about TNA Wrestling falling apart every time a wrestler exits the company, and after a decade with the promotion, he isn’t buying into the social media panic.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, the 10-year TNA veteran addressed the recent wave of roster departures following parent company Anthem’s workforce restructuring—a stretch that saw high-profile departures including Tommy Dreamer, Tessa Blanchard, Eric Young, Steve Maclin, and Aiden Prince. Moose expressed frustration over how quickly social media turns standard talent rotation into doom-and-gloom commentary regarding TNA’s future:
“It’s just one of those things. It happens. I mean, wrestling’s a revolving door, right? Somebody leaves, somebody new comes in. I wish our fans knew that a little bit more than the boys do because it tends to be when somebody leaves or asks for their release or their contract is up, you go on social media and everybody’s blasting TNA about, ‘Oh my God, this person’s leaving.’ But I’ve been in TNA for 10 years, and I wish I could tell you it’s been different. It happens every single year. Somebody we love is gonna leave, and somebody new that we get to love is gonna come in.”
Moose noted that talent turnover is simply standard operating procedure across professional sports and entertainment. Pointing to his seven-year career in the NFL, he recalled seeing over 100 transactions in a single season for a team, reinforcing that contracts ending or wrestlers seeking new opportunities is just business.
His comments echo statements made by Nic Nemeth earlier this summer, who called out fans for obsessing over departures while ignoring the talent TNA routinely re-signs and recruits. For Moose, as long as new talent continues cycling in to replace outgoing stars, TNA will keep rolling right along.
