WWE Still Plans 2025 Draft – WWE is reportedly planning to proceed with its annual Draft at some point in 2025, but according to the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio, the timing remains uncertain due to the company’s dense event calendar.
When discussing the possibility of the Draft returning this year, WrestleVotes indicated there is internal belief that it will indeed take place, though no official date has been set. “Plans for the draft? Yeah, I do believe so,” one host said. “TC, I don’t think you’ve heard a date. I haven’t heard a date.”
The lack of a confirmed schedule appears to stem from WWE’s packed stretch of events over the coming months, making it difficult to slot in the multi-night Draft across both RAW and SmackDown. WrestleVotes outlined the tight timeline, saying, “The calendar gets a little tricky here. You’re going to get Backlash next week [May 10th]. You’re going to get Saturday Night’s Main Event two weeks after that, you’re going to get Money in the Bank two weeks after that… three weeks after that, you get the Saudi Arabia show. Then, a week after that, you get the rumored Evolution show. And then you calm down a bit before SummerSlam.”
That heavy lineup runs from early May through early July, leaving WWE with few available windows to conduct a full-scale Draft without disrupting other ongoing storylines or PLE buildup. Despite these hurdles, WrestleVotes affirmed that the Draft is still in the cards: “So there’s a lot going on. I don’t know exactly when and where they can pencil this Draft in, but I would expect one to happen.”
WWE last held its Draft in April 2024, reshuffling rosters between RAW and SmackDown following WrestleMania 40. With SummerSlam 2025 on the horizon, fans may see another reshuffle emerge later this summer—pending WWE finding the right time slot.
