WWE Signs Three New NXT Recruits – WWE has expanded its Performance Center roster with the addition of three highly accomplished international athletes: Shady Elnahas, Francois Prinsloo, and Aaron Fara.
All three men bring elite athletic backgrounds to the company, having competed at the highest levels of global competition, including the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Shady Elnahas, 27, is a decorated Canadian judoka. He competed for Team Canada in the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympic Games in the 100 kg or less division. Elnahas has a remarkable resume in international judo, having captured gold medals at the Pan-American Games in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024. He also won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top judo athletes in the world in his weight class.
Francois Prinsloo, 23, represented South Africa in discus throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Known for his raw power and athleticism, Prinsloo adds a different element to the new class, transitioning from track and field to professional wrestling. His background in explosive sport and physical discipline could prove to be a valuable asset as he develops in the WWE system.
Aaron Fara, also 27, is an Austrian judoka who competed at Paris 2024 in both the men’s 100 kg or less category and the mixed team event. Fara’s international experience and combat sports pedigree make him a strong fit for WWE’s growing emphasis on recruiting high-level, legitimate athletes from diverse sporting disciplines.
This trio of Olympians continues WWE’s recent trend of onboarding world-class amateur athletes and combat sports competitors, similar to the recent additions of talent from football, gymnastics, and mixed martial arts. Their experience on the world stage could translate well to WWE’s physical and storytelling demands, particularly as the company looks to build its next generation of superstars.
There is currently no word yet on when Elnahas, Prinsloo, or Fara will make their NXT or WWE TV debuts, but all three will begin training immediately at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. More information regarding their WWE futures will be reported as it becomes available.
