WWE Evolution II Update: Event Could Feature Battle Royal, 7-8 Match Card Planned – WWE’s highly anticipated return to an all-women’s Premium Live Event, WWE Evolution, is gaining momentum with more details emerging about what fans can expect from Evolution II this summer.
As previously reported, WWE is eyeing the weekend of July 12, 2025, as the potential date for WWE Evolution II. Current internal discussions have Atlanta, Georgia, as the frontrunner to host the event. While WWE has yet to officially confirm the show, multiple sources indicate that planning is underway and gaining steam.
In a new update, WWE Evolution II is expected to feature seven to eight matches, with creative teams working to involve talent from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and possibly even EVOLVE, WWE’s developmental partner promotion.
One standout idea currently being discussed is a Women’s Battle Royal, which could serve as a centerpiece gimmick match to highlight a wide range of talent. According to one backstage source, the match is being considered to ensure representation for as many female wrestlers across WWE’s expanding roster as possible.
This would mark the second-ever WWE Evolution event. The first show, held on October 28, 2018, at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, was widely praised by fans and critics alike. That historic card included Ronda Rousey defending the RAW Women’s Championship against Nikki Bella, a brutal Last Woman Standing match between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, and the finals of the 2018 Mae Young Classic, which saw Toni Storm defeat Io Shirai.
The return of WWE Evolution has long been requested by fans and performers alike, with calls growing louder in recent years. With the current women’s divisions in WWE boasting standout talent such as Rhea Ripley, Bayley, IYO SKY, Bianca Belair, and rising stars from NXT, the timing for Evolution II seems fitting.
If the event does take place on July 12, it would come just one day before AEW ALL IN: Texas, set for July 13 in Arlington, TX, suggesting WWE could be making a strategic scheduling move.
More official details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
