Jade Cargill Defeats Asuka to Become 2025 Queen of the Ring – At WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Jade Cargill triumphed over former Women’s Champion Asuka in an intense, physical showdown to become the 2025 Queen of the Ring. The high-stakes final lived up to its billing, with both women pushing each other to the limit in a match that could very well be remembered as one of the tournament’s most compelling bouts.
The match opened with a traditional lock-up, followed by Asuka locking in a waist hold. Jade countered with a sharp back elbow, forcing a break. Asuka quickly transitioned into an octopus hold, but Jade escaped with a powerful side slam that earned her a near fall. Jade attempted a bicycle kick, but Asuka dodged it and went to work on Jade’s leg with a dragon screw through the ropes, targeting the knee to weaken the powerhouse.
Asuka followed up with a series of kicks to the hamstring and a dropkick for a near fall. Jade retaliated with a big wheelbarrow suplex and stiff forearms before landing a crushing spinebuster. Momentum swung in Jade’s favor as she delivered an elbow in the corner, a fallaway slam, and a thrust kick that rocked Asuka. She followed it up with a chokeslam, but it wasn’t enough to put the Empress away.
The pace quickened as Asuka landed a kick, and both competitors exchanged forearms in the center of the ring. Asuka stunned Jade with a backfist and missile dropkick for a close near fall. She went for the Asuka Lock, but Jade countered and tried for her finisher, Jaded. Asuka reversed it into a victory roll for another two-count, then applied a cross arm breaker. Jade fought through, using her strength to resist before kicking her way free.
In the final moments, Asuka attempted to lock in the Asuka Lock again, but Jade showed impressive ring awareness, rolling through and narrowly escaping a submission. After eating a roundhouse kick and a running hip attack, Jade caught Asuka mid-move and delivered a thunderous Jaded to score the decisive pinfall victory.
Following her win, Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis entered the ring to crown Jade Cargill as the 2025 Queen of the Ring. The crowd roared in approval as she stood tall with the crown raised above her head, marking a major milestone in her WWE career.
In a post-match interview with Byron Saxton, Jade delivered a powerful message:
“The world was on my shoulders,” she said. “People who are down on themselves, praise yourselves. Don’t let them tell you who you are. Show them. A storm is coming for SummerSlam.”
Jade’s victory not only secures her a crown, but also a championship match at SummerSlam 2025, where she will be able to challenge either Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship or IYO SKY for the Women’s World Championship, depending on her final brand alignment. Regardless of her choice, the landscape of the women’s division is about to be shaken up by the Queen herself.
