Saraya Leaves Door Open for Potential AEW Return – Saraya has confirmed that her departure from All Elite Wrestling earlier this year was amicable and potentially not the end of her journey with the company. In a new interview with Women’s Wrestling Talk, the former AEW Women’s World Champion revealed that AEW President Tony Khan was “extremely supportive” of her decision to leave, and that the door remains open for a possible return in the future.
Saraya officially announced her AEW exit in March 2025. At the time, she said she felt she had achieved all she set out to do in the promotion. Since then, there has been considerable speculation about her next move, including talk of a possible WWE return. Now, Saraya has clarified that AEW is still a viable option for her going forward.
Reflecting on her conversation with Khan, Saraya said, “I was, alright, time for me to bow out. Tony was amazing with it. It ended up being mutual, which is great.” She continued, “He was extremely supportive about my future endeavors and he encouraged me and the door was left open, which is great.”
She noted that the decision came after a period of self-reflection: “…it was just a lot of brainstorming on my time off where I was, okay, now it’s time for me to bow out gracefully.”
Saraya’s comments suggest that while she is currently weighing her options, AEW is far from off the table. The open-ended nature of her exit allows fans to speculate on a possible return down the line, especially if AEW’s women’s division evolves in a direction that presents new challenges for her.
Saraya joined AEW in 2022, debuting at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, and later captured the AEW Women’s World Title at All In: London in 2023. Her run included notable feuds and a reinvention of her in-ring persona following her comeback from a career-threatening neck injury.
As her next chapter unfolds, both AEW and WWE remain possibilities for the trailblazing star.
