Saraya Announces AEW Departure, WWE Return Likely – After recent speculation, Saraya has officially announced that she is no longer with AEW. The former AEW Women’s Champion revealed her departure on her new podcast “Rulebreakers With Saraya” via Entertainment Weekly.
“I’m here to tell you that me and AEW’s relationship has come to an end,” Saraya said. “I had an amazing time there. There’s no bad blood between us. I had such a magical time. It’s just me thinking that I just don’t fit in right now. I feel like I might be taking someone else’s spot, someone who could be doing something really special.”
Saraya signed with AEW in 2022 after leaving WWE and made her in-ring return at Full Gear 2022, following a years-long retirement due to injury. She won the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In 2023 but has not been prominently featured in recent months.
With her AEW departure now confirmed, all signs point to a WWE return. Saraya recently stated that she would be open to rejoining WWE if the opportunity presented itself, and after all the talk she has had about the company, it seems like only a matter of time before she makes her way back.
The speculation intensified after she recently posted a lyric from her old WWE theme song on X, writing, “Tear the stars out from the sky.” This cryptic post sparked an outpouring of fan comments, with many hoping this was a clear hint at her WWE return. Given her history with the company and the ongoing discussions, a return to WWE appears highly likely.
