John Cena Puts R-Truth Through Table During WWE Backlash Post-Show – WWE Backlash press conference turned chaotic as John Cena slammed R-Truth through a table after being interrupted during the media Q&A session.
The WWE Backlash: St. Louis post-show press conference took an unexpected turn when John Cena’s attempt to speak with the media was derailed by an overzealous R-Truth.
Coming off a controversial main event win over Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship, Cena appeared at the podium to address the media. However, before he could even field the first question, R-Truth interrupted the champion in trademark fashion.
Truth told Cena he would keep supporting him “even if the people say he sucks and can’t wrestle.” Cena didn’t take kindly to the remark, responding with a warning: if Truth said one more thing, there would be consequences.
True to form, R-Truth pushed the line and said “one more thing.” Without hesitation, Cena snapped and sent Truth crashing through a table, ending the exchange before it could properly begin.
The press conference moment mirrored events from earlier in the night. During the WWE Backlash main event, R-Truth had come to Cena’s aid, stopping Randy Orton from delivering a devastating punt kick. Truth’s good intentions were met with an RKO from Orton, but the distraction gave Cena the opening he needed. Taking advantage, Cena hit Orton with a low blow and blasted him with the Undisputed WWE Title to secure the pinfall victory.
While Truth may have intended to help Cena both during and after the match, the champion made it clear that there are boundaries—even for longtime allies. The unexpected table spot capped off a wild night for Cena, who now turns his attention to his upcoming appearance at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28, 2025.
