Aleister Black Defeats The Miz in First WWE Match Since 2020 – Aleister Black has officially stepped back into the WWE ring, and his return was marked by a definitive statement victory.
After re-emerging on the April 25 episode of WWE SmackDown, Black wrestled his first match back on the May 2 broadcast, taking on former WWE Champion The Miz. In a strong showing, Black put Miz away with a thunderous Black Mass kick, scoring a pinfall in his first WWE match in over three years.
Carmelo Hayes was seen watching from ringside during the bout, setting the stage for what could be a future rivalry. The segment concluded with Black and Hayes engaging in a tense post-match stare-down, suggesting unfinished business between the two.
Black’s last match in WWE prior to this return occurred on the October 12, 2020 episode of Monday Night RAW, where he lost a No Disqualification Match to Kevin Owens. He was released from the company in 2021 and went on to sign with AEW.
During his AEW tenure, he competed under the name Malakai Black and was part of the House of Black faction. He last appeared on AEW programming at Full Gear 2024 and worked his final independent match against Orion at CCW Havoc And Haze 9.
Aleister Black’s WWE return adds another intriguing figure to the SmackDown landscape and places him in immediate contention as a top-tier competitor.
