FTR Aligns with Stokely Hathaway, Targets Rock ‘N’ Roll Express – FTR made headlines during the April 23 edition of AEW Dynamite, unveiling Stokely Hathaway as their new official agent and launching a controversial campaign against wrestling legends.
The surprise alliance was revealed when Hathaway introduced Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler to the ring, offering a passionate defense of their recent behavior. Hathaway criticized the suspension and fines issued against FTR, calling them unfair and hypocritical compared to the actions of AEW stars like Jon Moxley and Adam Page.
Harwood and Wheeler then took the mic to explain that their days of putting others first were over. “From now on, we put ourselves first,” Harwood declared. The segment quickly shifted gears when Harwood invited the legendary Rock ‘N’ Roll Express—Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson—to the ring.
What began as a nostalgic nod soon turned hostile. Harwood verbally ran down the veteran team, claiming they were outdated and boldly stating that the Midnight Express was the superior tag team. The crowd responded with audible disapproval.
Hathaway used the moment to unveil FTR’s new shirt branding them as the “Living Legend Killers,” a label that set the stage for a brutal assault. Harwood and Wheeler viciously attacked Morton and Gibson, leaving them downed in the ring.
Before further damage could be done, The Paragon—Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong—rushed in to halt the assault, confronting FTR and ending the segment with tension at a boiling point.
This dramatic turn marks a clear shift in FTR’s direction, now backed by Hathaway’s mic skills and aggressive management style. Whether this new “Legend Killer” persona propels them back into AEW’s title picture remains to be seen.
