AEW Collision Viewership Doubles on April 26 Thanks to NBA Playoff Lead-In – The April 26 episode of AEW Collision, branded “Playoff Palooza,” saw a major boost in ratings and viewership following a favorable lead-in from the NBA Playoffs on TNT.
According to Nielsen data, the show drew 707,000 total viewers, more than doubling the 353,000 viewers from the April 17 episode, which aired on a special Thursday night due to scheduling conflicts. The last Saturday airing, which took place on April 12, brought in 455,000 viewers, making April 26 the most-watched Collision episode in several weeks.
The key 18-49 demographic rating also saw a substantial increase. The April 26 broadcast earned a 0.21 rating in the demo, a significant jump from the 0.08 rating on April 17. The surge is largely attributed to the strong lead-in from the Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Clippers playoff game, which aired immediately before Collision on TNT.
The strong ratings coincide with a noteworthy episode packed with marquee matches and developments:
- Kenny Omega’s return to assist Swerve Strickland has emerged as the most-watched YouTube clip from the episode, generating 287,000 views.
- The FTR vs. Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) rubber match drew strong interest with 127,000 views.
- Toni Storm’s Championship Eliminator match against Queen Aminata followed with 107,000 views.
- Anna Jay’s return against Megan Bayne brought in 82,000 views.
- Bandido defending the ROH World Title against Dralistico rounded out the top five with 47,000 views.
With the NBA playoffs continuing to deliver high lead-in audiences for TNT, AEW may look to capitalize on this momentum for future Saturday broadcasts. The April 26 numbers mark one of Collision’s strongest performances of 2025 to date and demonstrate the value of strategic scheduling and compelling content.
