Bryan Danielson Discusses Future in Wrestling and AEW Contract – In a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful at the ticket on-sale event for AEW All In: Texas, Bryan Danielson addressed questions about his wrestling future and the possibility of retiring from in-ring competition. The American Dragon revealed that he has yet to sign a new contract with All Elite Wrestling and shared his current mindset regarding his health and career.
When asked about returning to the ring, Danielson stated that there is a “50/50” chance of him wrestling again. He emphasized that his primary focus is on his health and the importance of living comfortably. Reflecting on his previous experience with neck surgery, which left lasting effects on his spine, Danielson explained his position:
“My priority is my health. I think the odds of me wrestling again are probably 50-50 at this point. My desire is to not get neck surgery. So if I could live comfortably without neck surgery, but it means that I wouldn’t get to wrestle again, I think I’d be okay with that trade-off. I had neck surgery before and it wasn’t a good experience. It kind of messed up my spine in the upper area for the rest of my life. Like now my spine is altered. So it’s like, okay, if we can get to a point where I’m a little bit more comfortable without needing neck surgery but they say you can’t wrestle anymore, I think that’s a fair trade-off. I’ve had a good run, kid.”
While Bryan Danielson has had a legendary career, it seems he is now weighing the long-term effects of his physical health over his wrestling aspirations. As the future remains uncertain, it’s clear that his well-being will remain his top priority moving forward.
