Matt Hardy: “TNA Has Been Amazing; We’re Having the Time of Our Life” – On a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, WWE legend Matt Hardy shared insights into his and his brother Jeff Hardy’s recent appearances in NXT, their future in professional wrestling, and their deep connection to WWE. While their current run in NXT has concluded, speculation continues about the possibility of a return to the WWE main roster.
Matt Hardy expressed gratitude for the overwhelmingly positive fan reception during their NXT appearances, particularly noting the warmth and enthusiasm of the crowds:
“It’s crazy how much universal love there has been in the buildings the last couple of weeks. Last Tuesday, it was a much bigger venue, and just the universal love there was incredible. We could have sat out there and milked that promo. They were wanting to chant ‘Hardy,’ or like, ‘Welcome home. Welcome back.’ ‘Thank you, Hardys.’ There were a few things. At one point they were saying, ‘Brother Nero,’ but we just tried to go ahead and get through our promo so we didn’t go heavy in our whole segment. It was just so flattering, so humbling, and the legitimate chant and the love and the passion those people showed us when they were saying, like, welcome back home, felt really special.”
This experience led Matt to reflect on the Hardy Boyz’s journey and their ultimate goal in professional wrestling. He emphasized their desire to finish their careers in WWE, a place where they had risen to prominence:
“I think Jeff and I have come to the realization, like, you know, the end of the day, the WWE is our home, and that is where we want to finish things when it’s all said and done.”
Matt also took a moment to praise TNA Wrestling, where the Hardy Boyz had significant success, including their iconic “Expedition of Gold” and “Broken” storylines. He acknowledged how TNA had been crucial to their career:
“Once again, TNA has been amazing. TNA is a home too. TNA has been so great to us. They’ve been so good the way they work in concert. They’ve been so great together. We’re having the time of our life at TNA.”
He suggested that their time in TNA might have been a key factor in sparking WWE’s renewed interest in bringing them back:
“If we didn’t get this chance to have this great final run as The Hardys in TNA, then who knows if the whole WWE thing happens and they come calling again.”
Matt Hardy also touched on Jeff Hardy’s motivations, particularly in light of his controversial departure from WWE in 2021, when he walked out mid-match. According to Matt, Jeff felt a deep sense of responsibility to prove himself:
“I know too for Jeff, he was real proud because he really had something he wanted to prove to everyone, and he felt that he owed WWE a debt, and I feel like, you know, he thinks he’s paying that off, and he’s super hyped about his this matches.”
While the Hardy Boyz have solidified their legacy, it seems that the duo is far from done, and fans can continue to look forward to their future endeavors in professional wrestling.
