Early reports indicated that surgery would not be required, but that Mysterio would be sidelined for an extended period.
During a recent appearance on the RAW Recap, Morgan was asked directly about Mysterio’s condition and when fans might expect to see him back. The Judgment Day member sounded confident while addressing his recovery and confirmed that Mysterio remains an active champion despite his absence.
“Daddy Dom, he’s home resting. He’s recovering. We’re just playing it safe. He is, after all, our double champion. He is, as of right now, the crown jewel of The Judgment Day. So we protect and cater to Daddy Dom. And we’re just playing it safe with him. He’ll be back soon, but he’s doing some well deserved [rest and relaxation]. He was quite literally running Monday Night RAW for, like, the last full year. You don’t think that Daddy Dom deserves a little bit of a break, a little bit of a rest, a little bit of an off day, a little bit of a reprieve? My goodness,” Morgan said.
Morgan’s comments reinforce previous reports that WWE has opted for a cautious approach with Mysterio’s recovery. Despite not being featured on weekly television, he is still recognized as the Intercontinental Champion, and there has been no indication that WWE plans to strip him of the title during his absence.
Another report suggests that WWE is optimistic about Mysterio’s timeline. The company is reportedly hopeful that he will be medically cleared in time to return for the Royal Rumble premium live event. While no official return date has been announced, the expectation is that his recovery is progressing well.
Mysterio’s absence has been noticeable, particularly given his heavy involvement on RAW throughout the past year. For now, WWE appears focused on ensuring he returns at full strength rather than rushing him back too soon.
