Some People In WWE Think Triple H Missed Opportunity by Not Signing Will Ospreay

Some People Think WWE Missed Opportunity by Not Signing Will Ospreay – After making his highly anticipated debut in AEW, the wrestling world buzzed with speculation, particularly within WWE circles, that Triple H may have missed a golden opportunity by not signing Will Ospreay.

Ospreay, a top-tier talent, garnered interest from numerous promotions vying for his services, including WWE, AEW, and TNA. Ultimately, he elected to join the AEW roster, with the official announcement made at Full Gear in November, and his full-time AEW journey commenced at AEW Revolution.

In his debut match, Ospreay emerged victorious over Kyle Fletcher, setting the stage for a high-profile showdown against Bryan Danielson at Dynasty next month.

However, opinions on Ospreay’s potential in WWE varied. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, some individuals felt that Triple H may not have viewed Ospreay as a strong promo guy, instead recognizing him primarily for his exceptional in-ring abilities. Ospreay has previously faced criticism for his frequent use of expletives in his promos, which may have influenced perceptions of his suitability for WWE.

“He started just a couple of weeks ago, ten days ago, actually, right? 11 days ago, whatever it is, ten days ago. And he’s like getting this kind of reaction. And yeah, I know people in WWE when this was going down, it was becoming very clear that he was going to AEW and not WWE. They [WWE] offered a lot less money. And I know people that were going like ‘He [Triple H]didn’t realize, they [WWE] didn’t realize. They knew, but he just didn’t realize. He just thought he’s just one of these great workers,’ but this guy has a chance to be, we’ll see. As far as the complete package. There’s very few people, you know, as far as the complete total package,” Meltzer stated.

Regardless of differing opinions, Ospreay’s arrival in AEW has undoubtedly stirred conversation and excitement within the wrestling community, signaling a new chapter in his career trajectory and further fueling the ongoing competition between wrestling promotions for top talent.
