Will Ospreay Signs Multi-Year Deal With AEW – During AEW Full Gear on Saturday, it was officially announced that Will Ospreay has signed with the company. Ospreay made the announcement in the ring, expressing his commitment to finishing his eight-year tenure with New Japan Pro Wrestling before starting with AEW. He specified that he would likely join in time for AEW Revolution season, typically occurring in early spring.
Tony Khan confirmed Ospreay’s signing by posting the All Elite graphic on social media, stating, “It’s official! @WillOspreay is ALL ELITE!”
Reports from oth Sports Illustrated and Fightful indicate that Ospreay’s contract with AEW is a multi-year deal. In recent weeks, Ospreay had been exploring his options with his NJPW contract set to expire next year, expressing interest in coming to the United States. Currently scheduled to wrestle at Wrestle Kingdom 18, Ospreay will compete in a three-way match against David Finlay and Jon Moxley for a championship that will replace the IWGP United States/United Kingdom title.
While this appearance marks the official announcement of Ospreay’s AEW signing, it’s not his first time wrestling for the promotion. He has previously competed on AEW television, with his most notable match occurring at All In in August, where he emerged victorious against Chris Jericho.
