Other notable bouts included North American Champion Oba Femi facing Dragon Lee, the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals featuring Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams against Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin, and NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria defending her title against Roxanne Perez.
The Dusty Rhodes Classic kicked off the event, with Corbin and Breakker emerging victorious to claim the tournament victory. They were presented with the prestigious Dusty Rhodes Classic Cup trophy, a symbol of Dusty’s legacy in wrestling.
According to Fightful Select, there were some concerns during the match regarding the tightness of the ropes, particularly after two unsettling moments involving Breakker and Hayes. Despite the challenges, all participants managed to complete the match, albeit with some minor injuries. Also, Ilja Dragunov was said to be okay after his nasty bump.
Following the event, Breakker is expected to appear on Monday’s episode of Raw to consider an offer from Adam Pearce to join the Raw brand. Meanwhile, Hayes betrayed Williams at the conclusion of Vengeance Day, signaling a potential change in their partnership.
