Backstage Update On Britt Baker’s AEW Status – Britt Baker has long been positioned as a cornerstone star for All Elite Wrestling since its inception in 2019. However, in 2023, her presence in the top-star role on television diminished, and she didn’t have a run as the AEW Women’s Champion. Her last matches were dated September 13th and 16th, prompting speculation about a potential injury sidelining her.
Dave Meltzer’s report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed these speculations, stating, “The reason Britt Baker hasn’t been around apparently is an injury situation.”
Back in September, it was reported that Baker would be off AEW TV for several weeks to support Adam Cole during his post-surgery recovery. Sean Ross Sapp further detailed Baker’s role, mentioning her significant involvement in aiding Cole’s rehabilitation, including tasks like driving him around and assisting with daily activities.
During the Worlds End media call, AEW President Tony Khan highlighted Baker, alongside Pac, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, and Jamie Hayter, as key talents currently sidelined due to injuries. This acknowledgment sheds light on Baker’s absence and indicates that she’s among the notable talents recovering from injuries within the AEW roster.
