AJ Styles Poised for SmackDown Return This Friday – WWE has announced an array of compelling segments for this week’s SmackDown, including the return of CM Punk, a clash between Charlotte Flair and Asuka, and the initiation of the United States Championship number one contender’s tournament featuring Bobby Lashley vs. Karrion Kross and Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar. The episode will also carry the Tribute to the Troops theme, adding to its significance.
AJ Styles, who hasn’t competed since the September 15 episode of SmackDown where he faced Finn Balor and subsequently was targeted by the Bloodline, is reportedly set to make his return to the Friday night show. According to Dave Meltzer’s insights on Wrestling Observer Radio, Styles was initially intended to return a few weeks earlier but encountered delays. However, the current plan is for his comeback to take place during this week’s SmackDown.
“AJ Styles is going to be back on Friday, or he’s supposed to be back on Friday. He was supposed to be back a few weeks ago but wasn’t. That’s the plan right now,” Meltzer stated.
