Erik of the Viking Raiders Undergoes Successful Neck Fusion Surgery – Erik of the Viking Raiders has shared the news of a successful neck fusion surgery he recently underwent. Taking to Instagram, he expressed his gratitude to the medical team at Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama, as well as WWE for their support.
“I cannot express the proper gratitude and thankfulness to the amazing Dr Cordover and his incredible staff at @andrews_sports_medicine and St Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL and to @wwe for always making sure I have the best care possible.
C6 / C7 fusion surgery was successful and recovery begins now.
I’m excited for all the possibilities once my cybernetic upgrades come fully online.”
Erik’s last in-ring appearance was in September when he and The Viking Raiders triumphed over Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin on WWE’s Main Event.
During his absence, his tag team partner, Ivar, has been engaged in a singles rivalry with The New Day, most notably winning a Viking Rules match against Kofi Kingston. Additionally, Ivar is set to participate in a four-way match on the next episode of Raw, featuring Ricochet, The Miz, and Bronson Reed, with the winner earning the opportunity to challenge Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
