New Undisputed WWE Tag-Team Champions Crowned at Fastlane – A little over six months ago, Jey Uso was standing by Roman Reigns’ side as Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, bringing an end to Rhodes’ quest for the WWE Undisputed Heavyweight Championship. However, their paths have taken a different turn, as they joined forces to conclude a new chapter together. Uso and Rhodes captured the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championships at Fastlane, by defeating Finn Balor and Damian Priest of The Judgment Day.
The match followed the usual ebb and flow of a tag team bout until a significant turning point. Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio made their way down the ramp to support their Judgment Day comrades. However, things took an unexpected twist when Uso renewed his recent interactions with Ripley, causing a distraction that allowed him to regain momentum upon returning to the ring. During this chaos, Mysterio ate a superkick from Uso, and the match continued with Priest executing a hurricanrana on Uso but seemingly injuring his knee in the process.
Priest’s injured knee would prove pivotal in the match’s conclusion. As he attempted to introduce Rhodes to the announce table, JD McDonagh intervened, swinging the Money In the Bank briefcase at Rhodes but accidentally striking Priest directly in his injured knee. This misstep paved the way for effective teamwork between Uso and Rhodes inside the ring. Uso held Balor in place while Rhodes delivered a Cody Cutter, reminiscent of a 1D, leading to the 1-2-3 pinfall victory.
