2023 WWE Fastlane Results – Notes from the pre-show.
– Backstage, Byron Saxton is standing by with Paul Heyman. “The Wise Man” of The Bloodline talk about John Cena and LA Knight teaming up to take on Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa tonight. He explains how Cena and Knight aren’t a real team. He calls tonight an easy victory for Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. Saxton asks what happens if they lose. Heyman flips out.
– We see a car pulling up to the building. Out walks WWE’s newest signee, Jade Cargill. “That B*tch” is greeted by Paul “Triple H” Levesque. The two walk into the building as the pre-show panelists react to her presence at the premium live event tonight.
2023 WWE Fastlane Results
The cold open video package for tonight’s PLE airs featuring Pat McAfee. After it wraps up, we shoot inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN. for the start of tonight’s highly-anticipated special event. Fireworks explode as the camera pans the crowd and Michael Cole welcomes us to the show.
We shoot to the commentary desk at ringside where Cole is joined by Corey Graves. They introduce us to the show and then inform us that the Undisputed WWE World Tag-Team Championship will be kicking things off. The pre-show package for this one airs now.
Undisputed WWE World Tag-Team Championship
Finn Balor & Damian Priest (C) vs. Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso
We shoot back inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN, where we hear the familiar sounds of “Main Event” Jey Uso’s theme song. “Just me Uce! Day one ish!” Out he comes to a big pop and he heads to the ring. His theme dies down and then we hear the familiar sounds of Cody Rhodes’ entrance tune.
“The American Nightmare” emerges to a mega-pop from the sold-out crowd of 14,500+ inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They sing along with his theme as he makes his way down to the ring to join his Ucey tag-team partner. The music wraps up.
Now we hear the familiar sounds of The Judgment Day’s theme song. Out comes the reigning and defending Undisputed WWE World Tag-Team Champions Finn Balor and “Senor Money In The Bank” Damian Priest.
Jey and Priest start things off. They lock up and Priest backs Jey into the corner but Jey with a side head lock. Jey with a shoulder tackle but Priest stays on his feet and he knocks Jey down with a shoulder tackle of his own. They lock up and Priest backs Jey into the corner and Priest misses a punch on the break. Jey with punches to Priest but Priest with an Irish whip and Jey slides into the corner and connects with a punch and kick to the leg. Cody tags in and Jey holds the ropes. Cody with a side head lock. Cody with a kick and drop down uppercut. Cody with a drop kick to the knee and a wrist lock. Jey tags in and he kicks Priest in the leg. Jey with a head butt but Priest with a clothesline. Priest tosses Jey into the corner and connects with punches before tagging in Finn. Finn with punches and kicks.
Finn with a kick to Jey followed by punches. Jey with a head butt and Cody tags in. Cody with s side head lock and he gets Finn on his shoulders and hits a back breaker. Cody with a delayed gourdbuster. Jey tags back in and he head butts Finn. Priest makes the tag and Jey with an uppercut to Finn but Priest kicks Jey from the apron. Priest with elbows. Priest with a back heel kick and Balor with kicks for a near fall. Balor with a reverse chin lock. Finn with a snap mare and drop kick to the head for a near fall. Finn with an elbow to the top of the head. Priest tags in and he stretches Jey with his knee in Jey’s back. Jey gets back to his feet and Jey with elbows. Priest with a forearm to the back to stop Jey. Priest with a forearm and then Priest hits Cody on the apron. Finn tags in and Priest with an elbow into the corner. Finn with a slingshot stomp for a near fall.
Finn with a reverse chin lock. Jey with punches and he tries to get to Cody to make the tag but Finn stops Jey. Jey with more punches but Finn continues to hold Jey from Cody. Finn with an Irish whip and Jey with a punch to Priest and he avoids a splash from Finn. Cody makes the tag and he punches Balor. Cody with a running forearm and he floats over in the corner and follows with a power slam and Beautiful Disaster for a near fall. Cody pounds the mat as he waist for Finn to get back to his feet. Cody stops Priest on the apron and hits a dragon screw. Finn with a rollup for a near fall. Finn escapes CrossRhodes. Cody goes for a CodyCutter but Finn catches Cody and hits an elevated elbow drop for a near fall. Finn drop kicks Cody into the corner. Finn goes up top for Coup de Grace but Cody crotches Finn on the turnbuckle. Cody with punches to Finn and Cody sets for a superplex and he hits a delayed superplex but Cody feels the impact of the move and he holds his neck.
Priest and Jey tag in and Jey with punches. Jey with a thrust kick and the shirt comes off and he puts it on Priest and hits an uppercut. Jey gets Priest up but Priest gets back to his feet and he boxes Jey’s ears. Jey with an enzuigiri that sends Priest into the corner. Jey sets for the running hip but Priest sends Jey to the apron. Jey with a cross body for a near fall. Priest rolls to the apron. Priest with a round kick from the apron and he blocks a thrust kick. Priest with a leaping flatliner for a near fall. Priest mocks Jey and he charges into an elbow from Jey. Jey goes to the turnbuckles but Priest with a forearm to the back and Priest goes for the Razor’s Edge but Jey escapes. Priest is sent to the floor and Jey with a suicide dive onto Balor and Priest. Jey sends Priest into the ring and he goes up top and hits a frog splash for a near fall when Finn breaks up the cover.
Cody with a CodyCutter to Finn and Cody holds his neck as he rolls to the floor. Jey sets for a running hip into the corner when Priest gets back to his feet, but Priest with a kick and he sets for South of Heaven but Jey escapes and hits a spear on Priest. Jey goes up top but Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley come to ringside. Jey super kicks Dom and then eh backs away from Rhea. Jey goes up top as Rhea smiles at Jey. Jey kicks Finn away. Priest punches Jey on the turnbuckles. Priest with a Frankensteiner while Finn tags in and hits Coup de Grace but Cody breaks up the cover. Priest holds his knee while Cody tries to get Jey back to his feet. All four men stand in the center of the ring and it is time for pairing off and punching. Cody with a thrust kick when Priest goes for a springboard move. Balor with sling blade but Jey with a super kick. Jey stops JD. Jey with a rollup and Finn kicks out and sends Jey into the briefcase that Rhea was holding. Finn gets a near fall.
Priest choke slams Cody on the apron. Priest adjusts the announce table and sets for South of Heaven on the table but JD hits Priest with the case by accident. Cody with CrossRhodes to Priest on the table. Finn goes to the floor and Jey with a flip dive onto Finn and JD. Cody tags in and Jey with a super kick. Cody with a CodyCutter while Jey hits a neck breaker. Cody with CrossRhodes on Finn for the three count.
Winners and NEW Undisputed WWE World Tag Team Champions: Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso
Backstage:
We shoot backstage after a quick commercial break. We see Booker T and Wade Barrett talking about the exciting opener. Xavier Woods walks in and it turns into a Pizza Hut promotional segment. Barrett dusts off his “Bad News” gimmick for a one-time comedy line.
LWO and Mystery Partner vs. Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits
Mysterio, Santos and Zelina head to the ring without the third member of their team being revealed — yet.
Ford points out that it is three on two. Santos with a kick and a sunset flip but Ford rolls through and misses a kick. Santos stops Dawkins and hits a flying forearm on Ford. Santos is sent to the apron and Santos kicks Ford and he goes up top for a cross body. Santos sets for a running double knee strike but Ford goes to the apron and punches Santos. Ford goes up top and Santos with a kick to the head. Santos with a Frankensteiner and he gets a near fall. Ford clips Santos and Dawkins tags in. Dawkins with a forearm and Lashley tags in. Dawkins with a twisting splash and Lashley with a running shoulder into the corner. Lashley tries for the Hurt Lock but Santos escapes. Bobby sets for a delayed suplex and he gets Santos up and sends Santos to the mat. Dawkins tags in and he gets a near fall. Dawkins with an Irish whip and twisting splash into the corner. Santos with a drop kick and Rey tags in. Rey with a head scissors take down but Dawkins kicks Rey. Rey kicks Dawkins and knocks Lashley off the apron. Rey drop kicks Dawkins in the knee and Lashley tags in. Lashley grabs Rey on the 619 attempt and Dawkins with a punch before Lashley drops Rey on the floor.
Lashley with a running shoulder into the corner. Lashley gets Rey up and hits a Dominator. Ford Tags in and hits a splash for a near fall. Montez kicks Rey in the ribs. Ford with many kicks in the corner. Ford with an Irish whip that sends Rey sternum first into the turnbuckles. Dawkins tags in and he kicks Rey a few times. Dawkins with shoulders in the corner. Lashley chokes Rey while the referee deals with Dawkins. Lashley tags in and he connects with elbows in the corner. Lashley runs into a boot and Rey fights out of the corner and gives Lashley an elbow but Lashley with forearms and an Irish whip. Rey moves when Lashley charges and he hits the turnbuckles. Ford misses a charge and Ford goes over the top rope to the floor. Dawkins tags in and Ford pulls Santos off the apron to prevent the tag. Zelina with Meteora to Ford. Rey with a tornado DDT to Dawkins and both men are down in the ring.
Rey looks for Santos but he is on the ground. Dawkins grabs Rey and Ford tags in. Ford with an elbow drop and a kick to the midsection. Ford goes for a suplex but Rey lands on his feet. Rey with an enzuigiri to send Ford to the floor.
Carlito’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring while Rey tries to get to his corner to make the tag.
Carlito tags in and he clotheslines Ford a few times. Ford with an Irish whip but Carlito punches Dawkins and Lashley. Carlito with a drop kick and he clotheslines Dawkins over the top rope to the floor. Rey with a seated splash off the apron to Dawkins. Santos with a suicide dive that sends Lashley into the ringside barrier. Carlito with a Backstabber for the three count.

WWE Women’s Championship
IYO SKY (C) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka
Flair with a boot to Iyo and Asuka spits mist in Flair’s face. Asuka gets a near fall but Iyo breaks it up. Flair rolls to the floor to clean her eyes. Iyo iwth a Tiger Feint into an arm drag. Iyo with an arm drag and Asuka with an arm drag of her own into an arm bar. Iyo gets ot her feet and Asuka sends Iyo back to the mat. Iyo with a head scissors. Iyo pulls Asuka to the mat by the hair. Charlotte is being treated at ringside. Iyo with a back elbow in the corner and she goes to the turnbuckles but misses a moonsault and lands on her feet. Asuka with a missile drop kick but Iyo with a rollup for a near fall. Iyo with an inside cradle for a near fall. Iyo with a crucifix for a near fall. Iyo kicks Asuka in the head but Asuka with a back elbow. Iyo with an elbow but Asuka with a kick to the chest. Flair with a boot to Asuka. Flair with a fallaway slam to Iyo. Flair chops Asuka.
Flair goes for a knee to Asuka’s leg but Iyo gets on Flair’s back and Flair wit a snap mare. Flair with a forearm to Asuka and Asuka with a kick to the leg. Flair catches Asuka and hits a belly-to-back suplex. Iyo with a victory roll and a double stomp. Iyo with a kick and forearms. Asuka with forearms to Flair. Iyo and Asuka Irish whip Flair and Flair flips to the apron and connects with shoulders and a slingshot rollup on Asuka. Iyo with La Mistica into a crossface on Flair. Asuka kicks Flair. Asuka sends Iyo to the apron and Iyo drops Asuka on the top rope. Iyo with a springboard drop kick to Asuka and then she goes to the turnbuckles for a moonsault but Asuka stops Iyo. Asuka sets for a German Superplex but Iyo with an elbow. Asuka hits the German superplex. Asuka with a sliding kick to the head for a near fall.
Flair goes up top while Asuka has Iyo in a waist lock. Flair with a cross body to Iyo and Asuka. Flair chops Iyo and Asuka and after many, both fall to the mat. Flair sets for a double suplex but Iyo and Asuka block it. Flair with the double suplex. Flair with a kick to Asuka and then she sends Iyo face first into the turnbuckles. Flair with a walk over into a double clothesline for a near fall on Asuka. Flair misses a boot and gets caught in the ropes. Iyo drops Charlotte’s leg on the top rope. Iyo with a sunset flip to Asuka when Asuka tries for a German suplex and Flair gets to the ropes. Iyo and Asuka trade near falls. Asuka with a hip attack to Flair on the apron. Iyo with a chop. Asuka Irish whips Iyo and Iyo with a suicide dive onto Flair. Asuka with a sliding kick to Flair on the apron. Iyo trips Asuka on the apron. Iyo goes to the apron and signals for a moonsault. Iyo with an Asai Moonsault onto Asuka. Flair goes to the turnbuckles for a moonsault onto Iyo and Asuka.
Flair sends Asuka into the ring and she pulls Asuka into the corner. Flair goes for a moonsault but Asuka pulls Flair off the turnbuckles. Asuka runs into a boot from Flair. Flair goes up top and Iyo with a Shotei and it staggers Flair on the turnbuckles. Iyo with a forearm and Flair chops Iyo. Flair gets Iyo on her shoulders but Asuka comes under and hits a power bomb on Charlotte while Flair hits a Samoan drop. Asuka gets a near fall on Flair and then on Iyo. Asuka runs into a boot from Flair but Asuka with a take down into an arm bar. Flair with a forearm and she turns it into a Boston Crab. Asuka counters and gets a near fall. Flair sets for the figure four and Iyo with Meteora on Flair for a near fall. Asuka with a Sharpshooter on Flair while Iyo has Flair in a crossface. Asuka locks in the Asuka lock on Iyo but Iyo with a rollup for a near fall.
Asuka with a Codebreaker to Iyo and Flair with a spear to Asuka for a near fall.
Bayley comes out to check on Iyo. Bayley sends Iyo onto the apron and Flair kicks Iyo off the apron to the floor. Asuka with a Codebreaker off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Asuka goes for the Asuka Lock but Flair applies the figure four and she slaps Asuka before bridging. Bayley comes into the ring and the referee does not see Asuka tapping out. Iyo with a moonsault to Flair and Iyo gets the three count.
Winner: Iyo Sky
– Pat McAfee makes his way to the ring. Pat says there was no chance in hell he was going to miss this show in Indianapolis. He says there are some towns that have no energy or no juice, but that isn’t Indianapolis. He says Indianapolis deserves a Wrestlemania. Pat introduces John Cena.
John Cena & LA Knight vs. The Bloodline
Cena and Jimmy start things off. They lock up and Cena with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Paul has some words for Jimmy. Cena with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Jimmy says he has it. They lock up and Jimmy with a side head lock. Cena with a shoulder tackle and Jimmy tags Solo in and Solo is not happy with Jimmy so far. Cena goes for a shoulder tackle but Solo stays on his feet. Solo with an uppercut to Cena. Solo with another uppercut. Solo with a head butt and Jimmy tags in. Jimmy and Solo make a wish. Jimmy with a punch and an uppercut. Jimmy stomps on the hand. Jimmy puts Cena in the ropes and chokes him. Solo punches Cena when the referee deals with Jimmy and Knight. Solo tags in and he punches Cena while Jimmy holds him. Solo puts Cena on the turnbuckles and in the tree of woe. Solo with a diving head butt.
Jimmy tags back in and he punches Cena. Jimmy misses a running hip when Cena moves. Jimmy with a side head lock as he stops Cena from making the tag. Jimmy pulls Cena down by the hair. Jimmy gets a near fall. Solo tags in and he sets for a running hip strike in the corner and connects. Solo stands over Cena as Cena struggles to get back to his corner. Solo with a head butt and Cena with punches. Solo with a spinning heel kick and Cena is down again. Jimmy tags in and he tries to draw Knight into the ring so the referee has to deal with him. Cena with an Attitude Adjustment on Jimmy and both men are down. Solo makes the tag and Solo punches Knight off the apron to prevent the tag. Solo with a head butt while Knight argues with the referee. Jimmy throws something at Knight. Solo pulls Cena into the corner for a Bonzai splash. Solo goes for another Bonzai splash and hits it. Solo gets a near fall.
Solo with a head butt. Solo goes for a third Bonzai drop but Cena gets his knee up to stop Solo. Jimmy tags in and Knight tags in. Knight with a flying clothesline and a side Russian leg sweep. Knight with a swinging neck breaker and he knocks Solo off the apron. Knight kicks Jimmy in the corner. Knight avoids Solo and hits a DDT on Solo. Jimmy with a super kick for a near fall. Jimmy goes up top and goes for a splash but Knight moves and Jimmy lands on his feet and rolls through. Knight with a power slam and the LA Knight elbow. Solo with a Samoan drop to Knight and Cena with a cross body to Solo. Jimmy with a frog splash to Cena. Knight punches Jimmy and then he exchange punches with Jimmy and Solo until Knight takes over and connects with punches to each man. Jimmy sends Knight over the top rope to the floor. Jimmy super kicks Cena when Cena gets Solo on his shoulders.
Jimmy goes up top again and Solo goes over the top rope when Knight drops down. Knight leaps to the turnbuckles and hits a superplex on Jimmy. Cena with an elbow to Solo on the apron and a five knuckle shuffle. Knight with Blunt Force Trauma for the three count.
Winners: John Cena and LA Knight
Backstage:
Finn Balor tells Damian Priest that he shouldn’t cash in tonight. Priest says tonight is the night. He isn’t going home empty handed. Rhea tells Priest he said he didn’t want to rush it. She tells him tonight is not the night and she asks for the briefcase.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship (Last Man Standing)
Seth Rollins (C) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Rollins misses a kick and Nakamura goes to the floor. Rollins teases a suicide dive but Nakamura moves. Nakamura gets in the ring and he tells Rollins to COME ON. Rollins gets a kendo stick and Rollins misses. Nakamura pulls Rollins to the floor and runs Seth into the apron and ringside barrier. Nakamura goes for a suplex but Rollins blocks it and hits a suplex on the floor. The referee starts his count. Rollins pulls up the protective mats and tries for a power bomb but Nakamura escapes. Rollins sends Nakamura into the ring steps. Rollins picks up the ring steps and he hits Nakamura in the head with them. Nakamura avoids the steps and avoids a Stomp on the ring steps. Rollins with a rolling elbow. Nakamura rolls into the ring and Seth looks under the ring for chairs and he throws them into the ring. Seth throws a trash can into the ring and then he brings a table into the ring and pulls one out for the floor. Nakamura with a kick and a running knee to Seth’s head over the apron. Nakamura with a knee drop off the apron to Rollins hanging over the edge of the apron.
Nakamura sends Rollins back into the ring. Nakamura gets nunchuks and he hits Rollins in the leg with them. Nakamura hits Rollins again with them and then he runs into a boot from Rollins. Nakamura puts Rollins in the ropes and hits a sliding German suplex. Nakamura with a knee off the turnbuckles and the referee starts his count. Nakamura kicks Rollins in the back of the leg and he puts the trash can over Rollins. Nakamura hits the trash can with the kendo stick. Nakamura chokes Rollins with the nunchuks. Nakamura with a knee drop. Nakamura with a sleeper. Rollins gets to the ropes and Naikamura goes for a reverse exploder but Rollins lands on his feet and hits a sling blade. Rollins hits Nakamura with the kendo stick. Rollins hits Nakamura in the head with the trash can. Rollins goes for a suicide dive and hits it. Rollins sends Nakamura back into the ring and he gets the kendo stick again. Rollins hits Nakamura in the midsection and hits a boot to the head. Rollins goes up top and hits a frog splash. The referee starts his count.
Rollins has the kendo stick again and he misses. Nakamura chokes Rollins with the kendo stick and hits a lungblower. Nakamura with a kick to Rollins. Nakamura sets up the table in the corner. Nakamura with a rear naked choke and he goes for a reverse exploder and hits it. Rollins rolls to the table in the corner nd Nakamura goes for a running knee but Rollins moves and Nakamura hits the table. Rollins with a Stomp and the referee starts his count. Nakamura gets back to his feet and Rollins clotheslines Nakamura over the top rope to the floor. Rollins adjusts the announce table while the referee makes his count. Nakamura gets back to his feet. Rollins pulls out a ladder and hits Nakamura in the head with the top of the ladder. Rollins sets up a ladder next to the announce table. Rollins punches Nakamura and puts him on the announce table. Rollins goes up top and sets for a Stomp but Nakamura gets to his feet. Rollins with a forearm against the ringside barrier. Rollins sends Nakamura into the apron and ringside barrier. Rollins sends Nakamura over the ringside barrier into the crowd.
Rollins with a forearm and then he hits Nakamura iwth a chair. Rollins gets Nakamura on his shoulders but Nakamura sends Rollins into the railing. Nakamura sends Rollins into a storage case. Nakamura with forearms as they go up the aisle. Rollins with punches. Rollins bites Nakamura. Nakamura with a low blow and he kicks Rollins off the stairs onto the floor. The referee starts his count. Rollins beats the count but Nakamura has a chair and he hits Rollins in the back with it. Nakamura hits Rollins in the back another time with the chair. Nakamura with a kick to the chest and he hits Rollins with the chair again. Nakamura swings and misses with a chair and hits the ring post. Rollins sets for a Pedigree on the exposed floor but Nakamura counters with a back body drop onto the concrete. Nakamura with a forearm to the back and he sends Rollins back into the ring. Nakamura sets for Kinshasa and Rollins with a super kick. Rollins with a Pedigree and the referee starts his count on both men.
Rollins goes to the floor and Nakamura gets up at nine. Both men are on the floor and Seth tries to get the table back into the ring. Rollins sets up the table on the floor. Nakamura runs Rollins into the apron. Nakamura with forearms and knees. Nakamura puts Rollins on the table and then Nakamura goes to the apron and turnbuckles. Nakamura with a double knee drop to the midsection through the table. Nakamura gets back to his feet and Rollins beats the count to get back to his feet. Nakamura hits Rollins in the back with a chair many times. Rollins uses the ringside barrier to get to his feet. Rollins sends Nakamura into the ring post. Rollins looks at the ladder he set up earlier. Rollins puts Nakamura’s head on the announce table while Seth climbs. Nakamura gets to his feet and climbs the ladder. Rollins sets for a suplex off the ladder through the table but Nakamura blocks it and spits mist in Seth’s eyes and then pushes Seth through the table.
The referee starts his count. Rollins beats the count and Nakamura climbs down the ladder. Nakamura sends Rollins into the ladder. They return to the ring. Nakamura gets Rollins up for a back breaker onto the chair. Nakamura sets for Kinshasa and sends Rollins through the table. Rollins rolls to the floor to break the count. Rollins falls to the floor and Nakamura kicks Rollins in the back. Nakamura sends Rollins over the ringside barrier into the time keeper’s area. Nakamura with a knee to the midsection as they fight to a a ramp. Nakamura gets Rollins on his shoulders and puts Seth on a platform. Nakamura kicks Rollins in the head. Nakamura with kicks to Seth. Nakamura gets Seth on his shoulders but Rollins with elbows and a Pedigree onto the platform. Rollins with a Stomp onto the platform. The referee starts his count.
Both men beat the count and Rollins with a Falcon Arrow off the platform through tables.
The referee starts his count. Nakamura falls before he can get to his feet while Rollins beats the count.
Winner: Seth Rollins
Rollins celebrates the win and then we see a lengthy recap of the entire event. That’s how the show goes off the air. Thanks for joining us!
