Robert Roode’s Role For WWE SummerSlam Revealed – As noted, Robert Roode was spotted in Detroit ahead of Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam PLE.
According to a report from PWInsider, the 47-year-old is set to work as a producer backstage at the show. He is also expected to work Monday’s Raw taping from Minneapolis in the same role. However, it is not clear if this is a tryout or the start of a permanent position for him.
Roode underwent two spinal surgeries in a five-month span recently. He had fusion surgery on his C5 and C6 vertebrae last December and had the same procedure done for his C4 and C5 vertebrae in May. Roode hasn’t wrestled in over a year. His last match took place on a house show from Amarillo, Texas on June 25, 2022, where he lost to Omos.
As noted earlier, Randy Orton is also in Detroit for SummerSlam, although it is not clear if he will be involved in the show at all.
