Tony D’Angelo And Stacks Win NXT Tag Team Titles – At NXT Great American Bash, Tony D’Angelo and “Stacks” challenged Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
The babyfaces got the early advantage until Wolfgang clotheslined Tony on the floor then knocked down Stacks from behind in a cheap attack. Tony was over with the fans. D’Angelo got the hot tag moments later and hit a spinebuster to Coffee for a near fall. There was a miscommunication with the champions. D’Angelo with a superplex to coffee and then Stacks hit a splash off the top rope for 2 as Wolfgang broke it up. Wolfgang with a moonsault to Stacks for 2. There was outside interference from Joe Coffey that led to the referee being distracted. Gallus used a club to Stacks for a near fall as Tony broke up the pin attempt. Tony with a powerbomb to Mark on the floor. Tony hit Joe with a lead pipe. Stacks with an outside dive. Tony and Stacks hit their finisher for the win.
The win marked kicked off the first title reign in NXT for both D’Angelo and “Stacks.”
