Skye Blue Set to Return at AEW Beach Break – During the May 8 episode of AEW Collision, a vignette aired confirming that Blue will be back in action at AEW Beach Break, which takes place in her hometown of Chicago. The announcement marked her first official booking since being sidelined with an injury in July 2024.
AEW later revealed that Blue will be competing in a Women’s World Championship Eliminator Four-Way match. The bout will also feature current AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm, with two additional competitors yet to be announced. The winner of the eliminator match is expected to earn a future title shot.
Blue last wrestled on the July 20, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, where she sustained a broken ankle during a match against Hikaru Shida. She underwent surgery shortly after the injury and has been out of in-ring action for nearly 10 months. Although she made a brief appearance at AEW All Out 2024 on crutches, she has not competed since.
Her return to the ring comes at a pivotal time in AEW’s women’s division, with several fresh contenders emerging and Toni Storm continuing her reign as champion. Blue’s inclusion in the upcoming eliminator match could signal a renewed push as she reenters the title picture.
No word yet on who the remaining two competitors in the Four-Way match will be, but AEW is expected to announce them in the coming days as Beach Break draws closer.
AEW Beach Break is scheduled to take place in Chicago, IL, adding an emotional layer to Blue’s return as she performs in front of her hometown crowd for the first time since her injury.
