Orange Cassidy Potentially Sidelined Long-Term – Orange Cassidy may be out of in-ring action for an extended period, according to a new report from Fightful Select. The popular AEW star have suffered a torn pectoral muscle, an injury that often requires surgery and several months of rehabilitation.
Cassidy has not wrestled since the March 19 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he competed in a four-way match against Ricochet, Mark Davis, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. It’s unclear when the injury occurred, but his absence has now stretched over three months.
Fightful reports that Cassidy is “not expected to be back in the ring any time soon,” and while his in-ring return is not imminent, AEW has not ruled out using him in a non-wrestling capacity during his recovery. This opens the possibility of him appearing on AEW programming in backstage segments, promos, or commentary roles while he heals.
Over the past few years, Cassidy has been a mainstay of AEW television and pay-per-view events, with his laid-back, comedic style and hard-hitting in-ring performances helping him build a devoted following. His absence from AEW’s weekly programming has been felt, particularly given his role in elevating the AEW International Championship during a lengthy title reign in 2023.
As of now, there is no confirmed timetable for Cassidy’s return, and AEW has not released an official statement regarding his injury status. Fans will be hoping for updates soon as more information becomes available.
