Octagon Jr Reportedly Signs with WWE – WWE’s aggressive acquisition of top-tier talent from Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide appears to be ramping up, with another prominent name reportedly signing on. According to Cassidy Hays of BodySlam.net, AAA standout Octagon Jr. has officially signed a contract with WWE.
Hays reports that sources close to the situation say Octagon Jr. has informed those around him that he is completing his final independent and AAA obligations. The luchador is said to be turning down all new independent bookings moving forward, signaling that his full transition to WWE is imminent.
Octagon Jr. has already made a splash in WWE circles. He participated in the opening six-man tag match at the recent WWE x AAA Worlds Collide crossover event, where his team secured a victory. Later that night, he was involved in a brief but heated post-match altercation with current Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, leading to an impromptu title match at Money in the Bank 2025. Though Mysterio retained, the match served as a showcase for Octagon Jr.’s athleticism and presence, generating significant fan buzz.
His reported signing follows recent news that fellow AAA star Psycho Clown is also WWE-bound. WWE has now reportedly brought in a number of prominent AAA names, including El Hijo del Vikingo, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Lady Maravilla, La Parka, La Hiedra, Lady Flammer, and Niño Hamburguesa. This wave of talent is believed to be part of WWE’s long-term vision following its acquisition of AAA earlier this year.
AAA booker Konnan recently stated that WWE’s “end game” for the Mexican promotion is to secure a television deal in the U.S., further integrating the AAA brand under the WWE umbrella.
