Rumor Killer on Kairi Sane Facing Backstage Heat – Despite two recent injuries involving her in-ring opponents, Kairi Sane is reportedly not facing any backstage heat within WWE. According to Fightful Select, the former Damage CTRL member is not being blamed for the injuries suffered by Zoey Stark and Liv Morgan, as both are widely considered to be unfortunate accidents rather than the result of carelessness.
The first incident occurred during the May 19 episode of RAW, when Zoey Stark sustained a serious knee injury—tearing her ACL, MCL, and meniscus—during a botched missile dropkick sequence that involved Kairi. Stark has since undergone surgery and is expected to be out of action for an extended period.
Weeks later, on the June 16 episode of RAW, Kairi competed against Liv Morgan in a singles match. During the bout, a standard single-leg takedown resulted in Morgan dislocating her shoulder, cutting the match short. Like Stark, Morgan was also forced to undergo surgery and is now recovering on the sidelines.
While these two injuries happened in close proximity and involved Kairi Sane, Fightful’s sources stressed that there is no resentment toward her among the WWE roster or management. One source quoted in the report said, “There is zero heat whatsoever. Zoey’s was an accident that happened when she jumped off the top rope. Liv’s was a freak accident on a basic move. Kairi was very concerned backstage.”
It was also noted that Kairi was visibly shaken after both incidents and immediately checked on her opponents post-match. Her reaction was seen as genuine and caring, further confirming that the locker room does not attribute fault to her in either case.
Kairi’s reputation as a safe and respected performer appears fully intact despite the unfortunate timing of the injuries.
