CM Punk Wants To Work With Samoa Joe

CM Punk Wants To Work With Samoa Joe – CM Punk will be heading up the AEW Collision brand when the show premieres on June 17 on TNT, with the expectation that it and AEW’s new deal with WBD will be confirmed next week.

The show will be built around him as a way to keep him away from those he has issues with and vice versa. There have been some rumblings of him working with Chris Jericho when he returns, and they have had a recent meeting.

Some ideas have been tossed around for his potential return as Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that a feud with Jericho has been pitched and noted that the meeting was productive a few weeks ago in Florida.

Punk has also been pitching another opponent for the better part of a month for his return, and that’s Samoa Joe, who has been mainly used for the ROH brand in recent months.

Their history dates back to their time in ROH, with their last match happening in August 2005. They’ve also worked in PWG and in the UK.

As of this writing, it’s unclear whether the pitch has been for a one-off match or a lengthy program and whether it will actually happen.
