Cody Rhodes Not Returning To WWE? – On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Cody Rhodes’ status and it looks like he may be having second thoughts about going back to WWE.
“His status has changed, in theory,” Meltzer said. “He was on the books in WWE. They had creative laid out for him. They still thought on Friday that they had creative laid out for him and then now it’s very uncertain. They don’t know what’s going on with Cody Rhodes. They’re not sure. We’ll have to wait and see how that plays out. It’s up in the air. They don’t know. They thought they had him. It’s not like’s it’s dead, it’s not like they think they don’t have him but they are not sure. So, that’s the situation with Cody.”
Meltzer also noted the speculation that perhaps Rhodes might be working with Tony Khan again as part of Khan’s Ring Of Honor.
“Everyone in the world thinks that Cody runs Ring of Honor or something,” Meltzer stated. “I suppose there’s a way to do that angle and everything like that, you know? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.”
A couple of weeks ago, there were subtle references to Cody in the segments that involved The Miz and Edge. Cody has not been referenced since that time.
