WWE SmackDown Live Results (1/7) Uncasville, CT – We begins with highlights from Monday’s RAW to see what happened with Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman.
We are live from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, as Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring to start the show!
After his 7 minutes entrance, Roman wants New England to acknowledge him. Where do I begin. I miss one week and it all falls apart. When you are in isolation, you do a lot of thinking. There’s so many things he wanted to do and say and so many people he wanted to see. Except for two people. Two people he doesn’t want to see for the rest of his life. Those people are Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman.
Brock Lesnar’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring with Paul Heyman.
Heyman takes the mic and goes to do a grand introduction for Lesnar, but Lesnar stops him and just steps closer to Reigns, getting in his face. Lesnar mocks Heyman’s introduction now, and introduces himself to Reigns as the reigning, defending, WWE Champion of the world. Heyman gives him props for the intro, saying it was better for him. Lesnar then mocks Reigns, telling him to acknowledge him. Lesnar says Reigns always has a lot to say, but Lesnar doesn’t. Lesnar says he got what he wanted last Saturday at Day 1, Reigns got what he wanted. Now why don’t we give everybody what they want. Fans pop.
Lesnar proposes Title vs. Title, Champ vs. Champ. He tells Reigns to let’s do this. Reigns takes a few steps back, and says it’s a good idea, but it’s not his idea. Some fans boo. Reigns steps to Lesnar and says this is his show, and we do what he says on his time, and on top of that, Reigns doesn’t do business with people who do business with trash like Heyman. Heyman asks Reigns how can he talk to him, of all the people in the world, like this? Heyman takes credit for Reigns having his title and keeping it. Heyman goes on about protecting Reigns from Lesnar, and loving him because he was his Tribal Chief. Lesnar interrupts and asks Heyman what he just said.
Heyman says while Lesnar was gone, Reigns was all he had, and he worshipped the ground he walked on. Lesnar tells Heyman to shut up. Reigns tells Lesnar not to speak to Heyman like that. Or what?, Lesnar asks. Heyman, a bit scared, asks Lesnar not to speak to Reigns like that. Lesnar says he told Heyman to shut up. Reigns suddenly levels Lesnar with a Superman Punch. Reigns exits the ring as an angry Lesnar looks on from the mat, and a shocked Heyman looks on. Reigns yells back at Lesnar about how the Universal Title is his.
– We see Rick Boogs backstage getting ready with WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. We go to commercial.
Backstage:
Megan Morant scares Sami and brings up his match against Shinsuke Nakamura and his match tonight against Rick Boogs. Sami says that Nakamura is ducking him and he is putting Boogs in his way. Boogs is a gorilla and cannot deal with the master strategist.
Sami sees Johnny Knoxville. Sami asks Johnny why is he here and Johnny mentions he is here to see management to talk about the Royal Rumble. Sami says this isn’t Jackass. You need technical wrestling skills. Johnny says all he has to do is throw someone over the top rope. Sami says that Johnny is not qualified to do it. Sami tells Johnny if he can show the elder statesman what it takes to get in, or he should stay out of the way.
Rick Boogs vs. Sami Zayn
Sami backs away from Boogs and the referee tells Boogs to back off. Boogs with an exploder and a second one. Boogs presses Zayn over his head and slams him.
We go to commercial while Boogs has an air guitar and air drum solo.
We are back and Boogs with gutwrenches and a suplex. Zayn rolls to the apron. Zayn drops Boogs on the top rope and connects with a forearm to the back of the head. Zayn chokes Boogs in the ropes. Zayn sends Boogs into the turnbuckles. Zayn goes to the turnbuckles and connects with an elbow to the head for a near fall. Zayn goes back to the turnbuckles and Boogs catches Zayn and gives him a bear hug. Boogs turns it into a delayed vertical suplex but Zayn with knees to get Boogs to his knees. Boogs holds on and hits the suplex. Boogs strums up and he follows Sami to the floor. Zayn is brought back into the ringside area and Zayn with a kick to knock him off the apron.
Nakamura has some words for Zayn but Sami gets back into the ring. Boogs with an inside cradle for the three count.
Winner: Rick Boogs
After the match, Johnny Knoxville makes his way to the ring and he pushes Zayn over the top rope to the floor. It is announced that Johnny is now eligible to be in the Royal Rumble.
Backstage:
Kayla Braxton is in the back and she is with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. Kayla asks them about their final opportunity to win the tag titles tonight in a street fight. Woods says there are no rules in a street fight, which is typical of those street urchins. He says they have taken the proverbial bait. Kofi says they need to take the catch onto the boat. Woods says when the match reaches its conclusion, the New Day will be your actual and factual Tag Team Champions.
— Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring as we go to commercial.
In the Arena:
We are back and Charlotte wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Your resolutions were to eat healthy and go to the gym, like every boring person. Charlotte says her resolution is to make history. Charlotte says the Royal Rumble changes lives. Whoever wins the match gets to choose the champion of their choosing for the main event of Wrestlemania.
Charlotte wants to look a the competitors in the Royal Rumble match and we have a video package. Rhea Ripley, Nikki A.S.H., The Bellas, Shotzi, Natalya, Michelle McCool, Dana Brooke, Carmella, Zalina Vega, Mickie James, Tamina, Kelly Kelly, Aliyah, Summer Rae, Naomi, Shayna Baszler, and Lita.
Charlotte says that is a good lineup wiht up and comers and legends. Charlotte says that she is going to announce someone special who will be in the Royal Rumble match. She is a game changer, a living legend, a former Raw and Smackdown women’s champion, and she is someone you all admire.
She is… Charlotte Flair! Charlotte says that she is in the Royal Rumble. Charlotte says she will be the first champion to win the Royal Rumble and choose her opponent…
Naomi’s music plays and she makes her way to the ring.
Naomi says hello to Charlotte. She says that Charlotte does not have to wait to Wrestlemania to face the challenger of her choosing because you can choose to face me and put your title on the line right now. Charlotte says she knows that Naomi was the champion a few years ago, but what has she done to deserve a match wtih her?
Naomi says she knows she has done this… and she slaps Charlotte in the face. Charlotte goes after Naomi and Naomi sends Charlotte to the floor.
We go to commercial.
Naomi vs. Charlotte Flair
The match is joined in progress and Charlotte sends Naomi into the announce table. Charlotte gets a near fall. Charlotte sends Naomi into the turnbuckles. Naomi avoids being sent into the turnbuckles and she sends Charlotte into the turnbuckles. Naomi with a sliding clothesline for a near fall. Charlotte with a back breaker and gets a near fall. Charlotte stands on Naomi’s back and chokes her in the ropes. Charlotte drives Naomi’s head into the mat and then returns to the head scissors. Naomi with a bulldog into the turnbuckles and then Naomi goes to the turnbuckles. Charlotte with a boot to send Naomi to the floor. Charlotte sends Naomi into the timekeeper’s area.
Naomi with a kick and a blockbuster off the ringside barrier. Sonya comes out to stop the referee’s count. She says she may have neglected to say that this match cannot be won by count out.
Charlotte with a Northern Lariat as we go to commercial.
We are back and Charlotte works on the neck. Naomi with a jaw breaker and a round kick in the corner. Naomi with a lateral press for a near fall. Naomi with a leg drop for a near fall. Naomi with a springboard round kick for a near fall. Naomi goes up top and hits a cross body for a near fall. Charlotte blocks Rear View and gets a near fall. Charlotte with a figure four leg lock. Naomi gets to the ropes and Sonya says that you can’t win by disqualification and you can only win by pinfall or submission.
Naomi goes for a sunset flip but Charlotte blocks it and kicks Naomi. Charlotte goes up top and misses a moonsault but hits the Andrade for a near fall. Charlotte gets a near fall. Naomi with a forearm and then both women with kicks and both go down. Naomi with a round kick and Charlotte pulls the hair. Naomi lands on her feet on a belly-to-back suplex. Naomi with a sit out full nelson bomb for a near fall. Charlotte with a back breaker with Naomi in the ropes and gets a near fall. Naomi counters a power bomb with an X Factor for a near fall. Naomi goes for a split legged moonsault but Charlotte stops her. Charlotte with Natural Selection for the three count.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Backstage:
Kayla Braxton is in the back and she is joined by The Usos. Kayla asks about what Kofi and Xavier said about their last chance. Jey says the New Day had a chance to win at Day 1 and the Usos paid homage to one of the greatest tag teams with a 3D. It ends tonight. Jimmy says the New Day gonna find out why the Usos are called The Ones.

Backstage:
Sonya Deville is in the back with Adam Pearce. Adam says he has been on the phone all night. Since Roman doesn’t have an opponent for the Rumble, he needs one. Adam says he gets to pick that opponent. Adam says they want that pick by the end of the night. He has some ideas to run off Sonya.
In the Arena:
Baron Corbin is in the ring. Baron thanks everyone for coming out tonight. Baron says he is here by himself. With COVID you have to watch your back. Drew forgot to watch his back after his match at Day 1.
We take a look at what happened to Drew.
Corbin says that makes him incredibly happy. It was worth every penny of that fine. Baron says that Drew was supposed to be out for months, but he is here tonight.
Baron brings out his guest… Drew McIntyre, who suddenly looks a lot like Riddick Moss.
Baron asks “Drew” how is he walking after what happened to him on Saturday. He asks “Drew” how would he do in a match with him. “Drew” says that Corbin would kill him. He would soil his kilt. Corbin asks “Drew” when will we see him compete again. “Drew” says he could compete tomorrow, but he is going to milk this injury to pursue his true passion, painting water colors and writing poetry about the Loch Ness Monster. Moss reveals that he is ‘Drew”.
Erik and Ivar make their way to the ring and Moss and Corbin leave, as we go to commercial.
The Viking Raiders vs. Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss
The match is joined in progress and ivar slams Moss and then Erik slams Ivar onto Moss for a near fall. Moss with a kick to teh leg and Corbin tags in. Ivar with a boot and Erik tags in. Erik sends Corbin into the corner and Erik runs Ivar into Corbin in the corner and Erik gets a near fall. Erik with a back elbow to Corbin and Moss with a forearm from the apron. Corbin with Deep Six for a near fall. Corbin with punches to Erik and Moss tags in and hits a running shoulder tackle. Erik with punches and he goes for a cross body but Moss catches Erik and hits a fallaway slam. Corbin tags in.
Corbin punches Erik and kicks him in the corner. Erik with an elbow to Moss and Corbin with an elbow to Erik. Moss tags in and Erik with a forearm to knock Corbin to the floor. Moss with kicks and punches to Erik. Both men are down. Corbin pulls Ivar off the apron and sends him into the ring steps to prevent the tag from being made. Moss with the Punchline for the three count.
Winners: Happy Corbin and Riddick Moss
— Michael Cole mentions that Drew McIntyre suffered a cervical neck strain and he will continue to be evaluated.
Backstage:
Sheamus is in the back. He says who cares about Drew. He cares about his protege Ridge Holland and Ridge had his nose broken. Sheamus says he feels a bit responsible. He knows what will cheer up Ridge. Sheamus says he is in the Royal Rumble match.

Backstage:
Roman Reigns is in the back and there is a knock on the door. Adam Pearce enters and Roman tells him to sit. Adam tells Roman he chose Roman’s opponent. Roman says it does not matter who he picks. Roman says he would like to watch his cousins’ match so he tells him to leave.
The New Day vs. The Usos in a Street Fight for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship
Jimmy and Kofi start things off and Kofiw it punches and a snap mare. Woods tasg in and Kofi with a kick and Woods with a sliding clothesline. Kofi with a slingshot splash and Woods with a near fall. Kofi tags in and Jey pulls Jimmy away and they go to teh floor. Kofi goes up top and hits a trust fall onto Jimmy and Jey.
We go to commercial.
We are back and they are fighting by the entrance. Jimmy with a head butt to Kofi but Kofi sends Jimmy into the LED board. Woods does the same to Jey. They return to the ringside area. Jimmy punches Woods and then hot shots Kofi on the apron. Woods with a super kick to Jimmy. Jey pulls Woods to teh apron and Woods with a round kick and slingshot tornado DDT for a near fall. Jimmy with a pop up Samoan drop for a near fall. Jey gets a near fall on an Alley Oop Samoan Drop. Jey goes under the ring and he ignores the Gatorade and grabs some tape and tosses it to Jimmy. Woods is taped to the top rope. Kofi with a reverse suplex to Jimmy followed by a rollup on Jey for a near fall. Kofi frees Woods and then Jimmy and Jey go over the top rope to the floor.
Kofi and Woods are pulled to the floor and Kofi and Woods with punches. Kofi is sent into the ring post and Woods is sent over the ringside barrier. Jimmy and Jey grab the ring steps and hit Kofi in the head with them. Jimmy and Jey hit Woods with the steps. Jimmy and Jey punch Kofi. Woods with a cross body off the ringside barrier.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Woods gets Jimmy on his shoulders to stop a superplex and Kofi with a cross body for a near fall. Woods puts on Karrion Kross’ helmet and head butts Jimmy in the midsection. Kofi hits Jimmy wiht the chest plate. Jey tries to kick Woods in the helmet and that does not work. Kofi hits Jey and they get a near fall after a double drop kick. Woods sends a table into the ring and gives it to Kofi. Kofi puts the table against the turnbuckles. Woods tries to send Jimmy into the table but Jimmy reverses it. Jimmy super kicks Woods. Kofi kicks Jimmy. Jey with a super kick to Kofi. Jey sets for a running hip to Kofi against the table but Kofi moves and Kofi hits Trouble in Paradise for a near fall.
