The WWE 24/7 Championship still exists, and now it’s back in the hands of a familiar face.
This week on WWE RAW, the reigning champion, R-Truth appeared on the show for the first time in several weeks. During a backstage interview in which R-Truth joked about Ricky Bobby, Akira Tozawa snuck up behind the champion and pinned him to win the gold.
Tozawa crawled down a flight of stairs behind Truth’s back to catch him by surprise. Previously, Tozawa has held the WWE 24/7 Championship nine times. Truth has won the title 52 times; this latest title reign began in April.
After capturing the 24/7 Championship, Tozawa makes a hasty escape from the WWE ThunderDome.
