NXT Results – April 27, 2021 – We are live from the Capitol Wrestling Centre as Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez make their way to the ring for our first match of the night.
Dakota Kai vs. Mercedes Martinez
They lock up and Kai with a wrist lock. Martinez with a reversal into a side head lock and take down. Kai with a head scissors and Martinez escapes and punches Kai. Martinez with an uppercut and an ankle pick when Kai goes for a leap frog. Martinez with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex followed by clotheslines and a spinebuster for a near fall. Kai with a DDT for a near fall. Kai with a hard Irish whip and a running boot into the corner. Kai gets a near fall. Kai chokes Martinez in the corner.
Martinez with a punch but Kai with forearms to Martinez. Martinez with punches but Kai with a uranage back breaker for a near fall. Kai with a forearm to the back and then she applies an arm bar with her knee in Martinez’ back. Martinez gets a near fall. Kai with a bicycle kick and she puts Martinez in the corner and misses the running boot into the corner. Martinez with forearms from the apron while Kai is still stuck in the ropes. Martinez with a waist lock but Kai with elbows to send Martinez to the mat. Martinez with Splash Mountain into a Dominator and a near fall. Martinez with a punch and forearm in the corner but Kai with a drop toe hold into the turnbuckles when Martinez tries a second time.
Kai with a running boot into the corner and Martinez rolls to the floor. Martinez returns to the ring and Kai with kicks to the midsection. Kai with an arm bar and then she goes for a surfboard. Kai kicks Martinez in the back and then applies a body scissors and gets a near fall with a rollup. Martinez leans back and gets a near fall. Kai with an axe kick to the back. Martinez with a punch but Kai with a punch of her own. Kai sends Martinez shoulder first into the turnbuckles a few times.
Kai with a snap mare and she gets a near fall. Kai with an arm bar submission and she turns it into a short arm scissors. Kai sends Martinez to the floor. Martinez sends Kai back into the ring and Kai kicks Martinez as Mercedes returns to the ring. Kai with a kick and a double knee face buster for a near fall. Kai kicks Martinez. Kai with forearms and Martinez with punches. Kai with a head butt but Martinez with a rolling elbow. Martinez with chops and forearms in the corner. Martinez with a butterfly suplex and Martinez holds on and hits a second one. Martinez with a delayed deadlift butterfly suplex.
Martinez with a divorce court. Martinez goes to the floor and Raquel stands in front of Kai. Raquel has some words for Martinez while Kai distracts the referee. Martinez avoids Gonzalez and Martinez with a clothesline. Martinez with a knee and Raquel with a boot to Martinez. The referee calls for the bell.
Winner by DQ: Mercedes Martinez
After the bell, fans boo as Gonzalez talks some trash and tosses Martinez through the ropes to the floor. Gonzalez follows and destroys Martinez at ringside. Gonzalez launches Martinez into the barrier as she continues to talk trash in Spanish. Martinez gets sent face-first into the ring post as the boos continue. Kai is at ringside now, watching as Gonzalez launches Martinez into the Plexiglas barrier like a dart. Gonzalez stands over Martinez with her title as the music hits.
— Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon are in the back and they are asked about the next few weeks. Shotzi says they are not looking past the Robert Stone brand. Ember says it will be the same thing with Candice and Indi but will they lose their Way? Someone shows up and gives Shotzi and Ember flowers. Franky Monet shows up and reads the card on the flowers and it is from Dexter Lumis. Ember and Shotzi try to give each other the flowers.
We go to commercial.
— We are back with a look at Cameron Grimes at a jewelry store. He says he is looking for something for a special someone and he says it is for him. He is here to buy the most expensive watch in the city. The jeweler tells Mr. Grimes he has what he wants.
James Drake and Zack Gibson are in the ring and Drake says MSK are in a six man tag match in the main event. MSK will compete in any sort of match except for the one that really matters. To defend those titles straight up against the GYV. Gibson says MSK are a great little tag team but personally, they are the biggest knobheads he knows. The titles don’t make the men, the men make the title. They are the fire that will ignite the tag team division. If that melts a few snowflakes, so be it.
Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher come out.
Ciampa says he hates to be the guy who interrupts but he sees a lot of similarities. They are grizzled and veterans. You talk about wanting to be the leaders of the tag team division but him and toothless Timmy know something about being leaders. They want to be tag team champions. The last time we were in the ring with you, you found a way to win. Double T watched some film and he took some notes.
Thatcher says he finds a lot of strengths but there was this one show, NXT UK Takeover Cardiff. How did that go? Shoes off if you hate Gibson? Ciampa takes off his shoe and he hits Gibson with it. Thatcher sends Drake to Ciampa for a punch.
Killian Dain and Drake Maverick are in the back with McKenzie. Drake asks how did the match come about against Imperium. Killian says he asked for it. Drake says he knows what is going to happen. Drake says that you are going to attack me and join Imperium or you are not going to be there to take the tag.
— We see Tian Sha backstage somewhere now. Xia Li cuts a promo in Japanese as Boa stands next to her. Mei Ying appears and blows smoke as we go to commercial.
— Isaiah Scott is in the studio and he tells Leon Ruff the first thing that came to mind when you attacked me was that you were a coward. He says that Swerve is proud of you Leon. I didn’t think you had it in you. Now that I know you do, it is obvious the ring cannot contain us. I am suggesting a Falls Count Anywhere Match. If you want to play this game, I will continue to play. Now I am playing with your life.
The match is official for next week.
Toni Storm vs. Zayda Ramier
Before the match, Toni Storm tells Zoey Stark that you owe me a thank you. At Takeover, I made you famous. People only know who you are because of me. When history is written, you will be a footnote in my legendary career. My next chapter reads “Toni Storm ends Zoey Stark”. I hope you are watching because when I slap this rookie, I am going to imagine it is you.
Storm with kicks to Zayda and she follows with a forearm. Storm with a biel and a toss by the hair. Toni with a sliding clothesline to Zayda against the ropes. Toni with a back breaker and she stretches Zayda over her knee. Toni pushes Zayda to the mat. Storm iwith a kick in the corner. Zayda with punches but Storm with a forearm. Storm with an Irish whip but Zayda with an uppercut and kick. Zayda with forearms but misses an enzuigiri and Storm with a German suplex. Storm with a running back elbow into the corner followed by a running hip into the corner. Storm sets for Storm Zero but pushes Zayda to the mat. Storm puts Zayda on the turnbuckles for a Super Storm Zero and Zoey Stark comes to the ring.
Storm loses focus for a moment and Zayda with forearms to send Storm to the mat. Zayda with a shooting star press for the three count.
Winner: Zayda Ramier
— Santos Escobar says no one gets one over on Santos Escobar. Mendoza says that MSK got lucky at Takeover. Those titles are in the wrong place. Santos says tonight, in the main event, they make a statement. Wilde says then they will get the tag titles. Escobar says he will reclaim what is his, the Cruiserweight Championship.
— Bronson Reed walks in the back and he sees Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae at the steps leading to Gorilla Position. Austin asks Johnny and Candice what are they doing in the dark since he has his match.
— We are back and LA Knight is with McKenzie. He says everyone is talking about his victory over Dexter Lumis. He mentions Indi Hartwell sitting in the front row. He says he saw a twinkle in her eye that led to a tingle in her loin. He says that when she is done with Dexter, she can come to him. Ever Rise shows up and they have their coffee mugs and they ask McKenzie if she has any questions about their Saturday morning show and McKenzie has nothing.
Bronson Reed vs. Austin Theory
If Reed Wins this Match, He Gets a North American Title Match against Johnny Gargano at a Future Date Match
They lock up and Reed with a clean break. Austin with a clean break of his own. Reed with a side head lock and he punches Theory in the top of the head. Theory with forearms and a reversal. Reed with a shoulder tackle and Theory rolls to the floor. Theory with a kick and he goes for a flying shoulder tackle and he bounces off Reed and lands on the mat. Theory rolls to the apron and Reed with a running hip and Theory hangs from the ropes by his feet. Reed with a running shoulder tackle to knock Theory to the floor.
Reed has some words for Gargano and Gargano has some words for Reed. Candice yells at Reed and Indi doesn’t care.
Theory with a rolling drop kick and then he drops down and Reed goes over the top rope to the floor. Theory has an injury and the referee checks on Austin while Gargano hits a super kick. Theory with a pescado and then he kicks Reed on the floor. Reed tries to Irish whip Theory into the ring steps but Theory stops short and then Reed charges and hits the ring steps when Theory moves.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Theory with a knee to the midsection and he stomps on the hand. Theory with a rear chin lock. Reed gets back to his feet and he punches Theory. Reed goes for an arm drag but Theory holds on to the ropes and Reed goes down. Theory misses a knee drop when Reed moves. Theory goes to the apron and he goes for a sllingshot rolling drop kick but Reed with a press slam and forearms. Reed with a running body block. Reed with a splash into the corner followed by a choke slam. Reed with a back senton for a near fall. Theory with a blockbuster for a near fall.
Theory tries to get Reed on his shoulders and he cannot get him up. Reed with a Samoan drop for a near fall. Reed goes for a suplex and Theory lands on his feet and Theory with a super kick but Reed stays on his feet. Theory goes for a suplex but Reed counters with a suplex of his own.
Dexter Lumis shows up on the ramp and Indi does not realize that her man is on his way to the ring. Johnny pulls Candice out of the way when he sees Dexter. Indi walks away and Dexter follows. Indi goes into the ring and Dexter gets on the apron, while the MATCH CONTINUES. Indi tells Dexter he talks too much. Theory knocks Lumis off the apron when he pulls Indi aside. Reed punches Gargano off the apron and Reed with a clothesline to Theory. Reed goes up top and hits a Tsunami for the three count.
Winner: Bronson Reed
MSK and KUSHIDA are in the back with McKenzie. She asks them how do they feel. Nash says they are excited to be working together. Wes says he appreciates KUSHIDA taking them under his wing. Nash says that is why they came out last week. KUSHIDA says they will show them that they are champions. KUSHIDA says they are MSKUSHIDA.
We go to commercial.
— We are back and Johnny Gargano is not happy. He says Austin had his number. Austin says it was the wrong number. Johnny blames it on Dexter Lumis. Candice says Indi has to deal with Shotzi and Ember since they got flowers from Dexter. Candice and Johnny tell her to take care of business.
— We see photos of Finn Balor on vacation and he says he will be back next week.
Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel vs. Killian Dain and Drake Maverick
Dain and Aichner start things off and they lock up. Aichner with a waist lock but Dain sends Aichner to the mat. Aichner with a waist lock and shot to the back of the head. Aichner with a kick and Dain tries for a slam but Aichner escapes. Dain blocks a slam attempt and Dain with a cross body on Aichner. Dain gets Aichner on his shoulders but Aichner gets to his feet. Barthel tags in and he applies a sleeper and Aichner with a kick. Dain with a snap mare and he clotheslines Barthel over the top rope to the floor.
Dain with a European uppercut and a slam. Dain tags Drake in and then Dain hip tosses Drake onto Barthel. Drake with a punch but Barthel blocks an Irish whip. Drake floats over in the corner but Barthel catches him. Drake with a drop kick to the knee and then to the side of the head. Barthel with a kick and forearm. Barthel goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Drake lands on his feet. Drake gets on Barthel’s shoulders and he hits a rana. Barthel with an arm wringer off the turnbuckles. Aichner tags in and Aichner with a running drop kick and Barthel with a knee. Barthel and Aichner go to the floor when Dain tries to get involved.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Drake struggles to get back up and he is sent back to the mat with an uppercut from Barthel. Barthel sends Drake into his corner and he misses an elbow when Drake goes down. Drake avoids Aichner and Drake with a shoulder. Aichner tags in and he stops Drake from getting to the corner but Drake wit a kick. Barthel kicks Dain off the apron and Aichner with kicks to Drake. Aichner with elbow drops for a near fall. Aichner tosses Drake around the ring. Drake with punches. Drake with a kick to Aichner but Fabian blocks the tag attempt and Aichner slams Drake to the mat and it forces Drake’s belt to come off. Dain back drops Barthel when Marcel tries to interfere. Aichner misses an elbow. Drake crawls to the corner but Barthel pulls Dain off the apron when Drake does not see it.
Aichner with a running knee to the back of the head. Aichner and Barthel double team Drake. Dain with clotheslines to Aichner and Barthel. Dain with a splash to Aichner and then he sends Barthel over the top rope to the floor. Dain goes after Barthel on the floor and Barthel with a boot to Dain’s head. Barthel says something to Wolfe in German and Wolfe has a chair but he cannot hit Dain with it. Barhtel yells at Wolfe and Maverick with a suicide dive onto Barthel.
Aichner runs into Dain and Dain tosses Drake onto Aichner. Barthel escapes from Dain and Dain is sent into the steps. Aichner runs into boots from Maverick. Drake with a cross body but Aichner rolls through and tney hit the European Bomb for the three count.
Winners: Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel
— Pete Dunne is in the back and he says everyone is talking about new opportunities but no one is mentioning me. KUSHIDA stepped to him and he put him out. That title is his when he wants. Maybe he will go to the UK and take back the title he made famous. He tells Johnny that if he steps to him, we know the way it ends. Bitter End. I won’t need smoke and mirrors to take care of Karrion Kross. I am the baddest man in NXT. Prove me wrong.
We go to commercial.
— We are back at the jewelry store with Cameron Grimes. He wants to know if the watch is working because it isn’t going tick tock so Karrion Kross won’t like it. Grimes says he will wear it out. Someone shows up and says that is a nice watch but it isn’t a Million Dollar Watch. Ted DiBiase laughs and he leaves.
Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon vs. Jessi Kamea and Aliyah (with Robert Stone) in a Non Title Match
We go back to the ring and The Robert Stone Brand is waiting – Aliyah and Jessi Kamea with Robert Stone. Out next comes NXT Tag Team Champions Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart for this non-title match. They ride out on Shotzi’s tank.
The Way’s Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell suddenly attack the champs at ringside before they can hit the ring, beating them around and sending them over the barrier. They then start beating them with food from the catering table as the boos get louder. The Way goes on for a few minutes destroying the champs. Back in the ring, The Robert Stone Brand has the title belts and they’re jumping around and celebrating like they just won something. The match never started.
— We go to Adam Cole with Aresh Markazi.
Cole is asked about his recovery. He says he has been better and he has been worse. When you look at his 403 day reign as champion, the War Games matches he went through, or the broken wrist during his title reign. He says he is the best.
Adam is asked if it was a mistake to turn on his brothers. Cole says he does not make mistakes. He has been carrying them and NXT on his back for four years. He delivered the first shot, but they lost focus on the Undisputed Era. They turned their backs on him.
Cole is asked if Kyle is now the face of NXT. Cole says everyone is excited to see the new face of NXT. Cole says Kyle was lucky to beat him. Kyle is not ready for the main event spot. There is a reason why Kyle has been here for four years and now they are considering him part of the main event. Kyle is not sure if he is in the main event and he is not ready for the title. As long as I am in NXT, Kyle is not taking my spot.
Cole is asked about Karrion Kross. Cole says this is one of the most competitive divisions in wrestling. Kross is good, but is he great? I am not sure. Look at the first time he won the title. Was that a freak injury or was he not ready. When I decide to go after the NXT Titlte, the clock is ticking.
Cole is asked what is next. He says that only he knows what is next. You will see the best damn Adam Cole you are going to see. Cole complains about sitting in the sun and having to wait. Cole ends up talking trash to Markazi and knocking his interview skills. We see O’Reilly watching the interview from the WWE Performance Center. He smirks and shakes his head.

— We are back and next week’s Women’s Tag Title match will be a street fight. That joins the Leon Ruff versus Isaiah Scott Falls Count Anywhere Match.
Legado del Fantasma vs. KUSHIDA & MSK
KUSHIDA starts off against Wilde and they both go for the legs but miss. KUSHIDA with a body scissors and then he grabs a wrist lock. Wilde with a reversal and he pulls KUSHIDA to the mat. KUSHIDA with a wrist lock and Carter tags in and he hits a slingshot senton. Lee with a hesitation senton on Wilde. Wilde with a jaw breaker and punch to the midsection. Mendoza tags in and they hit a double wheelbarrow slam and then they hit a double drop kick to the head for a near fall. Wilde tags back in and he connects with a knee to the midsection. Lee with a drop kick that sends Wilde to the floor. Carter tags in and they kick Mendoza and Carter with a double stomp to the back. Carter drop kicks Escobar to the floor. KUSHIDA tags in and hits a drop kick on Wilde. KUSHIDA with a handspring kick to send Wilde off the apron onto Mendoza and Escobar.
Carter with a waist lock on Escobar and Escobar with an elbow and wrist lock. Carter with a wrist lock take down but he misses a drop kick. Escobar with a kick to the back and shoulder. Escobar with a Fujiwara arm bar. Escobar with a chin lock and arm bar. Escobar with chops to Carter and a drop kick to Carter against the ropes. Carter is sent to the floor. Escobar misses Carter and is sent into the announce table. Escobar kicks Carter. Escobar with a face buster and he returns to the arm bar.
Escobar tries to hyper-extend the arm and Mendoza tags in. Mendoza kicks Carter in the shoulder. Mendoza with an arm wringer and a hammer lock and he sends Carter shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Wilde tags in and Carter with an inside cradle for a near fall. Wilde with an arm wringer. Mendoza tags in and he kicks and chokes Carter in the corner. Carter with punches to Mendoza but Mendoza with a kick. Wilde tags in and he slaps Carter. Wilde with a suplex and he gets a near fall.
Escobar tries to hyper-extend the arm and Mendoza tags in. Mendoza kicks Carter in the shoulder. Mendoza with an arm wringer and a hammer lock and he sends Carter shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Wilde tags in and Carter with an inside cradle for a near fall. Wilde with an arm wringer. Mendoza tags in and he kicks and chokes Carter in the corner. Carter with punches to Mendoza but Mendoza with a kick. Wilde tags in and he slaps Carter. Wilde with a suplex and he gets a near fall. Carter is sent into the turnbuckles and Escobar tags in and he kicks Carter. Escobar with a gutbuster and then he applies a double wrist lock.
We are told that Mercedes Martinez will face Raquel Gonzalez for the title in two weeks.
Carter escapes a suplex attempt. KUSHIDA and Mendoza tag in. KUSHIDA with a reverse atomic drop. KUAHIDA with a hip toss and cartwheel followed by a drop kick to Wilde. KUSHIDA with a divorce court on Escobar. KUSHIDA with a drop kick to WIlde. Carter with a splash onto Wilde. KUSHIDA holds the ropes open and Lee and Carter with stereo suicide dives. Escobar pulls KUSHIDA off the apron and then Escobar power bombs KUSHIDA through the announce table. Mendoza kicks Carter and sends him into the ring steps. Wilde and Lee are the legal men.
Wilde misses a clothesline and Lee with forearms and punches. WIlde with a drop kick to stop a Pele kick from Lee. Wilde with punches and he sends Lee face first into the turnbuckles. Wilde with a clothesline into the corner and Mendoza tags in and hits a clothesline. Escobar tags in and he hits a running clothesline into the corner. Wilde with a clothesline and then Mendoza follows. Escobar with a running double knee strike into the corner. Meanwhile, KUSHIDA is checked out of the floor.
Escobar with a suplex and then Wilde tags in and Mendoza with a slingshot slam of Wilde onto Lee for a near fall. Lee sends Wilde to the apron and then Lee kicks Mendoza. Mendoza is sent to the floor. Escobar misses a frog splash. Lee with a back first to Wilde followed by a super kick to Mendoza and then a kick to Escobar. Carter gets on the apron and he calls for Lee to make the tag. Carter tags in and he super kicks Wilde and then drop kicks Escboar. Mendoza with a kick. KUSHIDA refuses medical care and Escobar kicks KUSHIDA back in the ring. Escobar with a Phantom Driver to KUSHIDA. Wilde and Mendoza with the Side Russian leg sweep and flying boot combination on Carter for the three count.
